I've been working on an app that filters your notifications in real time according to rules created by you.

It comes with Pebble support and can forward any notification you wish to your Pebble smartwatch.

FEATURES:

Rules

Filter notifications based on:

- Originating app: Apply a rule to all apps, or only specific apps
- Notification Content: Rules can check the text displayed in the notification bar for specific words or phrases
- Notification Content doen't contain: Can also check for the absence of content in a notification

Alerts originating from rules can:

- Make the device vibrate
- Forward the notification to your Pebble
- Play an alert sound
- Lock the device

Special Alerts

Sometimes, having a rule just isn't enough. You want to absolutely make sure that you damned well get notified if a certain notification comes up

Filter notifications based on:

- Originating app: Apply a special alert to all apps, or only specific apps
- Notification Content: Special alerts can check the text displayed in the notification bar for specific words or phrases

When a special alert is triggered, it will play an alarm sound at full volume and vibrate your device (optional), as well as display a predefined logo.

Special alerts have a master switch, which allows you to turn all of them off without deleting them

UPCOMING

- Android wear support
- Per rule and special alert on/off setting
- Tutorial
- Import export of rules and special alerts
- UI update

As of now, the app collects some notification data (such as originating app, current foreground app when notification is posted, time of posting, whether or not it was matched to any of your rules etc.) and sends them to a back end server. All data is completely anonymous and cannot be linked back to any user. The only unique identifier is a random UUID generated when the app is first installed, used to separate the data between users. It is in no way linked to you or your device. In fact, if you clear the app's data, a brand new UUID is generated, and the server will treat you as a brand new user. This is not an opt in for the beta, so please refrain from installing the app if you have concerns over this.

The collected data will only be used to develop better rule algorithms and create an engine to suggest rules over time.

Hi everyone,

I'm doing a psychology project on attention span and response timing, and crowd sourcing the data through Android devices.

If you all could run this app once, it would really help

None of your personal data will ever be shared (we only take your gender, name and age anyways, and you can give a pseudonym if you like).

You are most welcome to take the test multiple times if you like

Permissions:

ACCESS_WIFI_STATE - Used to collect a unique id for your device, so that if you run the app multiple times we can still process the data
INTERNET - Used to submit the results. There are no ads or anything in the app

I've finally gotten around to making something new, and I have now open sourced a Circular SeekBar Widget for Android, available on GitHub:
