First thoughts from +Michael Marek on Fujifilm #XT1

Review of the Fujifilm X-T1

Working with the Fujifilm X-T1 #fujixt1   is really fun and I agree with the many positive reviews** from the last two or three weeks on the internet. Well done +FUJIFILM Europe

A few comments first

1. The autofocus is to lengths faster than that of the X-E1. The speed of the AF corresponds with the X-E2, but the design, the manual controls for ISO, exposure duration, exposure compensation and the following features were crucial for me to buy X-T1.

2. The remote control via smartphone and tablet (Android, #nexus5 and #nexus7/2013 ) works quickly and cleanly via WiFi. The images (JPG) can be transmitted directly via Fujifilm's Camera Remote app (https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.fujifilm_dsc.app.remoteshooter) on the smartphone or tablet - into a reduced size. They can be briefly transformed via +Snapseed  automatically backed up on Google+ photo and can then be shared on Google+.

3. The electronic viewfinder (EVF) is just superb. And also the LCD monitor provides a clear picture. Personally I do not miss a touchscreen and this function can be »replaced« by the use of the smartphone- or tabletscreen.

4. The slot for the memory card is now at the right edge of the case and not in the same place as the slot for the battery. This has not really bother me on the X-E1. But I can now change the battery without having to remove my strap because the screw thread was moved a little more towards the middle of the case. (It is not at the middle of the case respectively in an axis with the lens! - For that you have to buy the battery grip or the hand grip.)

5. The surface of the whole camera feels very good, the dials are locked or at least in a positive sense sluggish, so they can not be inadvertently changed. To me is that often happens at the X-E1 in the case of exposure compensation...

6. TBC. About the video function, the »familiar« and new features of the APS-C-sized X-Trans CMOS II sensor, which has been installed in the X-T1 and in the X-E2, and about some more features of the X-T1, I'll certainly report later...

7. Finally a note for further image processing:
Adobe Photoshop Camera Raw 8.4 Beta Release for PS/CC is available.  #adobephotoshop
For CC: http://labs.adobe.com/technologies/cameraraw8-4-cc/
One new supported camera is Fujifilm X-T1  #fujixt1 and the use of Fujifilm's filmsimulation. But for Adobe Lightroom we have to wait...

A couple of reviews

1. A nice looking, well entertaining field test as a video was created by mirrorlessrumors respectively The Camera Store and Nick Devlin:
http://www.mirrorlessrumors.com/fuji-x-t1-field-test-with-nick-devlin

2. More sophisticated pictures than my first test shots with the Fujifilm X-T1 can be found already at +Dan Bailey:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/101160407305581586697/posts/fCZXC6DRgxE

3. And you will find a little less exuberant hymn of praise with much more detailed information - as almost always when it comes to Fujifilm's X-series ;-) at +Karin Nelson:
https://plus.google.com/u/0/+KarinNelson/posts/ay3wZ6pxJdu

4. TBC. If i will find some more interesting reviews, i will update this post.

Note of thanks

And last but not least, I would like to thank Foto Walter in Tübingen, who have given me the chance to use the Fuji X-T1 extensively - from now on.

Thank you +Rafael García Márquez  García Márquez for re-sharing.

BTW.
Google+ seems to have problems at the moment; Comments, notifications and circle management does not work as usual and my "Thank you" was not initially accepted?!

"I'm old fashioned, I must admit.

Sharing photos. What's it got to do with me being old fashioned?"

Printing your photography is an organic and emotional experience. If it is to be shared, then even more so

These are from a series shot recently: Archi-textures

A visit to Granja Cantagrullas, a Spanish cheese maker, has been a good opportunity to put X-E2 to test.
A lot to be learned from this small producer that applies to photography as well: passion, illusion, self-confidence and honesty.
