I'm sure most electricity users could have told you prices haven't decreased with the removal of the carbon tax

Prime Minister Tony Abbott has repeatedly claimed scrapping Labor's carbon pricing legislation would save the average household $550 a year.

Have electricity prices dropped $550 since the carbon tax was abolished?

I have no idea why the +Australian Federal Police aren't knocking on the door of +Wilson Security

"The parliamentary inquiry into operations at Nauru has uncovered:

67 allegations of child abuse - 30 of those made against staff
33 allegations of sexual assault/rape
11 Wilson staff disciplined or terminated in response to sexual abuse or the use of excessive force."
Former guards from the Nauru detention centre have spoken out against Wilson Security, accusing the Australian company of providing misleading evidence to Parliament. The ABC's 7.30 program has obtained footage shot on cameras worn by Wilson Security staff showing guards at the centre preparing ...

Terrific bar designed for the locals

This is probably my favourite bar in Brisbane at the moment. Trading under the 'small bar' license, it has a maximum capacity of 60 people. It has four taps plus a hand pump, and the beers rotate keg by keg. As a result it is always worth a taster when you come in, as often most of those on tap will be unfamiliar. The staff are beer-lovers and happy to talk about the Russian Imperial stout or Red Rye ale they may have on tap at the time.

Went there for Sunday brunch. Good food and pleasant service, but pretty cheek-by-jowl crowded. Even though it is called a cafe, expect bistro prices rather than cafe prices. Basic beer $8 makes it more expensive than the specialist beer place just down the road.
