Important Update

Thank you so much to those of you who have purchased a print as part of my print sale. The government is doing everything that it can to try to get my ex-husband to resume his support payments, and your purchasing my prints has been helping to keep my son and I afloat in the interim. Paid photo gigs have been trickling in, too; if I can continue to earn money through the summer, when scheduling shoots will be tough due to a lack of childcare, I'm confident that we'll be back on our feet soon. So if you want to support an artist and own a beautiful piece of art, now is a great time to make it happen!

For this print sale, I will be offering only 10 copies each (after which I will never print the image again) of any of the abandonment prints on my website (http://racheltinephotography.com/abandonments/), any of the images from my first published magazine editorial (http://racheltinephotography.com/beauty-portraits/), and my image "Rose" (http://www.vogue.it/en/photovogue/Portfolio/9a118dd9-fefa-438b-a80a-a2067360b6a4/Image). * Additionally, I have decided to offer prints of all of my photographs that have been published on Vogue Italia's website, including this one (http://www.vogue.it/en/photovogue/Profilo/0c34f1a9-fb0d-4ce2-877e-ea970db5e5dc/User%29.) * All photographs will be printed on Kodak Endura Luster paper; the prices for this limited edition print sale are as follows:

8x12 - $50 (or 8.5x11 for the beauty portraits)
10x15 - $75
12x18 - $100
16x24 - $120

Payments can be made through PayPal to racheltine@gmail.com; please be sure to indicate the name and size of the print that you are purchasing, as well as your mailing address. Most of my other images will also be available for purchase; shoot me an email at racheltine@gmail.com for more info. * And if you'd like to become an official patron of my work, with exclusive access to new projects and prints, check me out at http://www.patreon.com/RachelTine. *

Lastly, if you know of anyone in need of a photographer in Boston or NYC, or in San Francisco this month, or if you know of any gigs for a Boston/New England/NYC photographer or retoucher (or a gig with a travel budget), it would be deeply appreciated if you could pass my name along. Thank you!!

And for #halfnekkidthursday  and #lyricallyinspired  from +Jason Jakober, +Tara Romasanta, +Amanda Recker, and me:

Living incongruously
You were there among the leaves
Your needs were directing you
And the wilderness, it spoke to you
They were threatened to choke you
You were always aware
You could sense that I was there

I saw you in the wild
I saw you in the wild
I knew you in the wild"

Important – Please Read

Thank you to everyone who has shared my posts, purchased prints, and offered support and extremely kind words. It has been extremely difficult to bring any of my troubles into the public eye, but your extremely kind response has taken some of the pain away. Many, many thanks.

For those of you who don't know, my (super awesome) 5 year old son and I have been in an unfortunate living situation for the past couple of years, while I have been earning my bachelor's degree in psychology and launching my photography business. I have made so much progress, having earned my degree with high honors and having been published in many publications, but my business is still in the the beginning stages, building a brand and client base. At the beginning of January, I was on the path to potentially having enough money to secure access to a studio space and to be able to finally make a consistent living and build a better future for myself and my son, but when my ex husband suddenly stopped paying his court ordered child support 3 months ago, I had to start using my savings to solely support my son. I am now at the end of my savings, and I am frightened, trying everything that I can think of to earn money until I land a steady gig.

In the hopes of earning money in any way that I can, I have decided to offer my first ever limited edition print sale. For this sale, I will be offering only 10 copies each (after which I will never print the image again) of any of the abandonment prints on my website (http://racheltinephotography.com/abandonments/), any of the images from my first published magazine editorial (http://racheltinephotography.com/beauty-portraits/), and the image featured in last Thursday's post, which was just published on Vogue Italia’s website (as are many of my photographs: http://www.vogue.it/en/photovogue/Profilo/0c34f1a9-fb0d-4ce2-877e-ea970db5e5dc/User). "Graceless
Is there a powder to erase this?
Is it dissolvable and tasteless?
You can't imagine how I hate this
Graceless

I'm trying, but I'm graceless
Don't have the sunny side to face this
I am invisible and weightless
You can't imagine how I hate this
Graceless

I'm trying, but I'm gone
Through the glass again
Just come and find me
God loves everybody, don't remind me
I took the medicine and I went missing
Just let me hear your voice, just let me listen

Graceless
I figured out how to be faithless
But it would be a shame to waste this
You can't imagine how I hate this
Graceless . . .

All of my thoughts of you
Bullets through rotten fruit
Come apart at the seams
Now I know what dying means

I am not my rosy self
Left my roses on my shelf
Take the white ones, they're my favorites
It's the side effects that save us

Grace
Put the flowers you find in a vase
If you're dead in the mind it'll brighten the place
Don't let them die on the vine, it's a waste
Grace

There's a science to walking through windows
There's a science to walking through windows
There's a science to walking through windows
There's a science to walking through windows without you . . .

I am not my rosy self
Left my roses on my shelf
Take the white ones, they're my favorites
It's the side effects that save us"

In honor of  #halfnekkidthursday , I thought I'd share this photograph that I took of the awesome Lauren Arsenault, which was published on the Vogue Italia website yesterday (http://www.vogue.it/en/photovogue/Portfolio/7dd9a72a-5cdd-4080-931b-9ce9c4ae8e41/Image). Breathless
Very Important – Please Read

I am a very private person. I have always felt uncomfortable discussing my problems openly; not only do I want to avoid ever burdening anyone else with my troubles, but I also am a very proud person and have an extremely hard time asking for or accepting assistance. I have stumbled many times in my life, and, with lots of hard work, have managed to get back up each time; I have overcome a potentially fatal disease, abuse, addiction, etc., and have come back stronger and more determined each time. I don't know if I've used up all of my luck or if fighting for so many years has begun to take its toll, but I now feel stuck in a desperate situation that, despite using every ounce of effort and energy I have left, I can't seem to escape. If any of you have wondered why my posts have gotten so much shorter and less personal, it is because I have been quietly struggling for a long time. My circumstances recently suffered another major blow: my ex-husband stopped paying his court-ordered child support; without that source of income and with a (totally awesome) 5 year old son to support , my bank account is now almost empty, and I am trying everything that I can think of to keep my son and I afloat while I continue to submit job applications and try to make my photography business profitable.

Two years ago, when my camera was about to die, I ran a print sale on G+. With this community's incredible generosity and support (thank you!!!!!!!), I managed to raise half of the funds required for a new camera, and all of the photographs that I have created in the past two years have been captured with that camera. I have made the most of that camera and your generosity, and all of the magazines, books, and shows in which my work has been featured over the past two years, none of it would have been possible without you. In the rare instances that I do ask for help, I feel compelled to work extremely hard and make the most out of the generosity of others.

"I was on a heavy tip
Trying to cross a canyon with a broken limb
You were on the other side
Like always, wondering what to do with life
I already had a sip
So I'd reasoned I was drunk enough to deal with it
You were on the other side
Like always, you could never make your mind . . .

To let me dangle at a cruel angle
Oh my feet don't touch the floor
Sometimes you're half in and then you're half out
But never close the door . . .

You're a holy fool all colored blue
Red feet upon the floor
You do such damage, how do you manage?
Trying to crawl in back for more . . .

But I can't beat you
Cause I'm still with you
Oh mercy I implore
How do you do it
I think I'm through it
Then I'm back against the wall

What kind of man loves like this
What kind of man
What kind of man loves like this
What kind of man"

Very Important – Please Read

For those of you who don’t know, I was married once, and I have a beautiful and awesome 5 year old son from that ill-fated union. Due to abusive behavior, I won my divorce in 2012, and have been raising my son on my own ever since. In that time, I have earned my Bachelor’s degree in psychology and have started to get my freelance photography business off the ground. However, my ex-husband stopped paying his court-ordered child support 3 months ago, and in that time I have spent much of my savings while trying to expedite the process of building a financially viable photography business and providing for my son. In an attempt to stay afloat while I put the pedal to the metal with photography, I have decided to offer my first limited edition print sale. For this sale, I will be offering only 10 copies each (after which I will never print the image again) of any of the abandonment prints on my website (http://racheltinephotography.com/abandonments/), any of the images from my first published magazine editorial (http://racheltinephotography.com/beauty-portraits/), and the image featured in this post, which was just published on Vogue Italia’s website. All photographs will be printed on Kodak Endura Luster paper; the prices for this limited edition print sale are as follows:

8x12 - $50
10x15 - $75
12x18 - $100
16x24 - $120

Payments can be made through PayPal to racheltine@gmail.com; please be sure to indicate the name and size of the print that you are purchasing, as well as your mailing address. Non-limited edition prints of other images are available at lower price points; shoot me an email at racheltine@gmail.com for more info. I am also now on Patreon; check me out at www.patreon.com/RachelTine if you'd like to become an official patron. Thank you in advance for your support. <3 <3 <3

Now, on to your regularly scheduled programming:

For #halfnekkidthursday#tbt , and for #lyricallyinspired  from +Jason Jakober+Tara Romasanta+Amanda Recker and me, here’s a song to accompany a shot from my first time shooting a model (Lauren Arsenault) in an abandoned building:

#TheNational

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ef1nJWtkprU

“Today you were far away
and I didn't ask you why
What could I say
I was far away
You just walked away
and I just watched you
What could I say

How close am I to losing you

Tonight you just close your eyes
and I just watch you
slip away

How close am I to losing you

Hey, are you awake
Yeah I'm right here
Well can I ask you about today

How close am I to losing you
How close am I to losing.”

Thank you for your constant encouragement and support; I’ve grown so much since joining this community, and I look forward to what the future has in store! :)

Red Light

Happy #halfnekkidthursday  everyone! This past weekend, I had my first art shoot in months (with the awesome Chrystyne, http://www.chrystyne.net/), and it felt great! I have some other edits that I need to tend to first, but here's a taste of what we got up to.

"She falls into frame with a professional pout
but the polaroids ignite on seeing their subject
and the aperture shuts-too much exposure

Voyeur sucks into focus-floodlit
the glossy kiss-pit but as emulsion drips down...down
the aperture shuts-too much exposure

Come into this room-Come into this gloom
See the Red light rinsing"

:) Have an awesome day, everyone!
