If any of them thought this was not inevitable, well...I feel sorry for their SOs, not them.

‘‘The bagel is the Jewish madeleine,’’ says Niki Russ Federman, a fourth-generation owner of the New York appetizing store Russ & Daughters on the Lower East Side. ‘‘You bite into it, and you’re reminded of where you came from and who you are.’’

-- SO TRUE!
San Francisco bakeries have tried and tried again to replicate the chewy, crusty perfection of New York’s specialty. They are still trying.

"So while yes, there’s certainly a lot of hard work that goes into building something, there’s also a lot of privilege involved—a factor that is often underestimated."

Key graf: "This is a consistent problem not just for Reddit but for the whole Web 2.0 ethos. This denial that managing a community is hard work, this culture that makes millionaires of the “makers” who write the code for social media platforms but pays the “maintainers” who spend every day keeping them usable minimum wage or nothing at all.'
Internet communities like Reddit have always been toxic environments that survive on the backs of unpaid labor, and attempts to corporatize them because of it.

Introduction
I've been working in various aspects of technology and/or marketing my entire career.

I love technology, but even more, I love seeing what people do with technology, and how communities form around it. When you have great community and great technology -- that's where the magic happens.

We had an OK sales experience here but when I brought the car in for warranty service, things were not good at all. The car was returned to me with a number of deep scratches and paint removed off the front left bumper, and the service department was completely unhelpful. No manager to talk to, no records; all they would say was that I'd have to come back the next day to talk to the technician who worked on my car. Not even an "I'm sorry". AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
