Oh thank goodness there are men out there explaining things like how to be politically active to us.

My tiny little lady brain wouldn't have known how to deal with a threat to my reproductive freedom without his help!

"It’s weird to keep saying this, but this is not okay. This is not a man with the temperament, the steadiness, the discipline to be president. The issue here isn’t left versus right, or liberal versus conservative, or Democrat versus Republican. It’s crazy versus not crazy. Donald Trump, of late, has been acting pretty crazy. That’s not acceptable in the job he’s running to fill."
It’s weird to keep saying this, but this is not okay behavior.

Just to be clear, I also think Trump is crazy and unfit to hold any public office. The article attempts to explain the appeal of Trump to so many people. More than that, it goes on to suggest ways to get through to the people he appeals to that are not racists. If we assume that most of his followers are racist, then we are no different than Trump when he says some Mexicans are not criminals. This is how the debate can quickly end up so negative. My takeaway from that article is we must get a positive message out there base on the facts. Just like the message from the Democratic Convention was focused on a fact based positive message rather than dropping to Trump's level. Aim high!

Even my generally non-economically inclined brain thought a lot of this was the case. Scalzi and I may be wrong, but I think I'll go add the VAT to my UK books rather than generously paying for them myself as I have been.

Or maybe I should continue paying the VAT. That'll make my books more attractive against those who are charging the VAT? I need to hunt down the opinions on that aspect of the publishing game.

"Caucuses are really the most effective voter suppression tool in politics today." - Josh Marshall. +Talking Points Memo
Former TPMer Greg Sargent has an interesting post today about how the Sanders campaign could end and end well - specifically, by using his clout at the convention to reform the primary process. It's an intriguing suggestion and makes a lot of sense since the Democrats' system could use reforming even if it's not quite as messed up as the Republicans' one. But the problem is that the things most in need of reforming are the only things keeping San...

Reading: "How much does Bernie Sanders actually know about policy?" Apparently not as much as he should.

The Democratic presidential hopeful had a rough interview with the New York Daily News editorial board, struggling to explain what he would do to break up the banks and more if elected.

The problem is this: The guys who violated the law know every letter of it. And designed their business to give everybody deniability.

Doing what Bernie wants to do requires changing to law to enforce accountability at the higher levels, in a manner that does not permit you do get off because you didn't know, or somebody offshore went rogue, or whatever.

Which begs the question of "how does he plan to change the law?"

 This.

"It’s one thing to prefer one candidate over another. That’s healthy. That’s admirable. It’s another to actively hate a candidate for doing exactly the same things as the last three men you voted for, despite her liberal record."

A lot of you guys are forgetting that this country does not allow most of it's votes to count.  I live in a red state.  I could vote for the Easter bunny and it wouldn't make any difference in the election.  The electoral college pretty much nullifies my voice.  So as a member of the minority in my state I can pretty safely not vote for Hillary and her unethical politics without providing ANYTHING to Trump.  If you are part of the minority party in a state probably the ONLY thing you can do is NOT vote for Hillary.  If I can make a statement showing I DON'T want another wallstreet funded unethical politician who will change her views not because of what she thinks is right, but what will get her the most votes in office, then... not voting for Hillary is probably the ONLY way to make my voice heard.

So don't tell me how to vote.

Introduction
I've been working in various aspects of technology and/or marketing my entire career.

I love technology, but even more, I love seeing what people do with technology, and how communities form around it. When you have great community and great technology -- that's where the magic happens.

We had an OK sales experience here but when I brought the car in for warranty service, things were not good at all. The car was returned to me with a number of deep scratches and paint removed off the front left bumper, and the service department was completely unhelpful. No manager to talk to, no records; all they would say was that I'd have to come back the next day to talk to the technician who worked on my car. Not even an "I'm sorry". AVOID. AVOID. AVOID.
