Stunning Boisali Biswas weaving in our TAFA Shop! I can see this against any colored wall...  it pops!  Boisali uses many different materials in her weavings, recycling wallpaper and remnants and then employing various surface design techniques to bring it all together. This weaving ships from Michigan, USA, rolled in a tube.
Boisali Biswas upcyled weaving using remnants from other projects along with surface design fabrics. 21″ x 30″ / 53 x 135 cm Ships from Michigan, USA.

New listing in our TAFA Shop! Those of you who love Ireland and folk music will especially enjoy this one!
Louise Schiele was in Ireland on vacation and ran into this musician, with sheep and kids running around. Thus, Man With Squeezebox Art Quilt was born from a photo she took!

Beautiful and moving, Brenda!
Knowing . . .  a profound, deep knowing continually flows through me. It is not easy to define or explain yet it is there, as sure as my next blink. A knowing so intense that the mere thought of you made it nearly impossible ...

Now available in our TAFA Shop!
This quilted wall hanging with cinnamon brown stripes was made by Cindy Grisdela, an art quilter from Reston, Virginia, USA. “Sand Dune” has earthy browns, warmth, and beautifully rendered quilting.

Great, Gaye! We're just using Blogger for Ann (the spiral site) because she lives in Spain and is having a bunch of hosting and tech issues there, so this is the easiest way for her to have a web presence right now.

This is another site that I am working on: http://sirraffles.com/wordpress/
I am using a beautiful wordpress theme for this one. I am basically a tweaker and don't do coding, but there are so many great themes out there now that are well built, so it makes things a lot easier.

Summer is a good time for me to work on these projects as things are slower on the web and I will get really busy after September. So, if you are not ready before then, we will probably have to wait until after the holidays as January and February slow down again.

Sweet!
February found me heading south to work in two schools for the month. At one school, for profoundly disabled students, I created journals to prepare 125 students for an upcoming field trip to see a very special play about Jun...

Story
Tagline
I've worked with textiles and other crafts in a variety of capacities since 1988.
Introduction
A creative entrepreneur often wears many hats.  Mine all have to do with the handmade world: making things, selling them, teaching others, organizing, networking.  It's a wonderful place to be!

My website has more than you need to know about me and my background.  I have a shop on Etsy where I sell ethnic textiles and the things I make.  I also manage two other shops there:  Afghan Tribal Arts and Oshiwa Designs.

In 2010, I launched TAFA: The Textile and Fiber Art List.  My pride and joy, it also takes up most of my time. Artizan Made is my newest project, launched January 2014.

All of these efforts means too much time on the computer, too much sitting.  So, I also try to make it a priority to work on my garden and walk my dogs.  A simple lifestyle, but a full one!

I've worked with the handmade world since 1988. Special interests include functional craft, fair trade, upcycled products and tribal art. Textiles have been central to all of this and in 2010 I started an organization, TAFA: The Textile and Fiber Art List, which works with studio artists and other textile businesses. I use social media heavily, especially blogging and Facebook, and have enjoyed the community spirit and creative vision that this work has provided me.
