Long before Charles Darrow scraped his way out of the Depression selling Monopoly, Lizzie Magie patented a suspiciously familiar game called the Landlord's Game — which, it turns out, argued against the concentration of wealth.
The game Charles Darrow sold in the 1930s bore a striking resemblance to a game Lizzie Magie patented in 1904. In The Monopolists, Mary Pilon tells Monopoly's origin story.

In "Law & Order: Special Victims Unit," Mayor Bill de Blasio was resented by hard-boiled detectives. On "The Mindy Project," he was blamed for letting trash pile up on the street. And in "Saturday Night Live," he became a folk hero of a motley band of cannabis enthusiasts.
New York City’s leader has taken charge of shaping his on-air persona in what has become a rite of passage for the nation’s most prominent politicians.

‘Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it.’
The phrasing itself certainly is catchy. It's a big one, not only because it is so common, but also because if it is true and if history is ugly (hint: it is), then this saying ought to guide our public and private policy.
Some politicians want to get rid of the AP U.S.-history curriculum because it paints a cynical picture of the country's backstory.

"Beyond principled advocacy, putting women forward as hosts is just good business strategy for networks. Contrary to the long-held belief that women don’t have authority on air, audiences connect with female hosts just fine. In fact, the recent success of women-hosted shows points to the idea that female creative teams running and hosting shows can help expand podcasts’ audience. "
Men host 70% of the most popular podcasts. But here are five signs that times are changing.

This place has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. Instead of rectifying their mistake they just yell at you even when they are wrong. I had confirmed for my clothing to be ready on Monday & they changed the date to Wed without letting me know. They didn't care. The clothing never seems to feel clean or smell clean. They are terrible laundry service. Don't waste your money.

Just had an amazing dinner tonight. It was superb. Chef/Owner Lea Forant cooks like true pro. She creates a homey feel like my just made dinner. The staff (chef/owner Lea Forant) is so nice- she is funny & very welcoming. The atmosphere is cute & warm. I had the sole & I am pretty sure I may have maybe left one thing on the plate because I wanted to save room for the dessert. The lavender lemonade was fabulous. I ordered the Bread Pudding to take home & all I can say is wow! If you are looking for a warm home cooked & inspired meal this is the place.
