Alone in the cold blues and soft pinks, I melted away into the snow. Looking on it now, it seems another time, another life, even another place. You sometimes forget, but my pictures help me to remember. Otherwise the experience just slips away, like so many other less important things.

My Flora gallery on my site. It looks like the little link function actually links it prettily. I even fixed my gallery/portfolios. To a degree. Needs some fine tuning still but seems to be looking good.
Flora, fungi and more. Each with personalities as diverse as the settings they are found in. Some carefree, some heartbroken. Beautiful and unique.

This was started by my husband.

It's not something I talk about a lot, but... we've been through hell and back, and are still fighting. We have the chance at a place of our own, but it needs a new roof, and the quotes are much, much higher than anticipated.

I'm not one to ask for help like this, but if you'd be willing to share, I know that he, and I, would appreciate the signal boost.

We're not dreaming of a mansion - but hopefully starting a small non-profit farm, and a place where I can get back to painting and making jewelry with space to work.

But first, we need a roof over our heads.

A little bit of back story, for all the new faces - my name is Steve, and my wife's name is Abby. I'm retired law enforcement, and for the last ten years have been living with debilitating cancer - Chronic lymphocytic leukemia. It's a little miracle I'm still alive and kicking, and a testament to...

+Abigail Markov I cried my little eyes out reading it, moved by the tribulations you have both gone through and the efforts you continue to put forth. This brave, beautiful, happy, creative face you give to others, while you try to survive in so many ways beyond the material world. Imagining your hands aching and in tears because you had to produce, produce, produce just to get by, to support your family. I would give you both the biggest huggles I could muster ♥ You work so hard and you have both been through so much, at the very least you deserve a place to call your own with all the necessary repairs. You really deserve so much more than that. I know and appreciate how kind and supportive you've been to me regardless of your own troubles. This is the least I can do, I sincerely wish I could do more. Do you have a twitter I could re tweet or something? I have a humble audience but maybe a lot of little small gestures can add up to a large one.

I am so sad. So sad that when I view my own profile on mobile, there is those little collections boxes. There used to be my albums, I don't really know how to find my albums anymore.

You know, back when I set my albums up. I took great care arranging them. I spent far too much time, going into the image properties ( when it was going through Picasaweb ) and manually dating images to get them in the order that I wanted them to show up in. Even if I didn't add to them continuously , it was still a portfolio I admired.

Hmph.

The Indian caste system. I might not be able to wrap my head around that. Not just the principle but the specifics including how it's implemented and how it makes people feel.

Astrophotography/processing help needed.

Alright, I'm having an issue with #Pixinsight that I have never had before. I have made no changes to previous settings which have worked well in the past. These images had less light pollution than my horsehead nebula had a few weeks ago, but this is coming out much worse than anything I have ever stacked or edited in PI before. This is after stacking and running the screen transfer function. Detail is completely lost in M82, and M81 is a bit washed out too.

I know what the bright patch is in the bottom right (didn't cover the camera when doing dark frames caused some light to leak through the camera cap).

- Dark Frames were good aside from the light leak, which I have dealt with before without any issues.
- Flat frames are alright, but using good light frames from the past didn't make any difference in final quality.
- Bias frames which I typically use the same ones for a few months before doing new ones. These worked before.
-Light frames weren't overly light polluted, and they weren't washed out due to over exposure.

I'm at a loss as to why I can't get the stack to come out right. As I said I changed no settings from my previous stacking, so I have no idea what else I can do to make this better.

Included below is a screenshot from PI after applying the STF to the stacked image, and a single 5 minute exposure straight out of the camera converted to jpeg so I can post it here.

Anyone have any ideas what the heck is going on? Doing a dynamic background extraction makes it much worse. No amount of editing that I have done has been beneficial to this image.
