Antonio - Thanks for your question.  The outline on the Dwart is almost the reverse of the Weekend Warrior.  While the Dwart is stubby in the nose and wings down to a tighter tail, the Weekend Warrior is pointy in the nose and opens up to a very wide tail.  The Dwart is going to do slightly better in smaller-average waves with the extra width and paddle power up front.
Hope this helps! - Chris Stellato +REAL Watersports

robert kerr- Fin construction always matters regardless of the size or location of the fins.  Performance fins give you options to go lighter and more responsive, which is always going to make a big difference! -Chris +REAL Watersports

+Riley Sebby - Thanks for your question.  Ideally, you're looking for 2 or 3 surfboards to have that 1ft - 8ft range of surf covered, with a flat&wide board for the small days and something a little more "performance" tuned for the better days.... however there are a few boards that we've been loving for "One-board quivers".

Check out the ...Lost E-Z Up, it's shaped to handle the big days but still has good float and paddle power to use it in smaller, mushier waves.  For your weight and skill level you'd be looking at something in the 34-36 liter range, so check out a 5'11" E-Z Up:

Wow. This place is great. I came here one day on the recommendation of a local because I thought I had a pinhole in my kite. I dropped it off with them. They called the next day and said they inflated the kite and it held its air, and I told that can't be. I went down there and talked to Jessie (or Casey) in the rental shop. Me and 3 other people heard the air leaking so I thought maybe the pinhole was blocked in the bladder. Jessie agreed to take the bladder out and see where the hole was. He let me stay and watch, and even let me assist in removing the bladder since I've never done it before. After pulling out the bladder we couldn't find the pinhole, so we put the bladder back in. I still have no idea where the leak was coming from. After putting it back in, he didn't charge me for the labor. I had to tip him anyway for the time/effort he put into it. The next day while flying the kite, one of the rubber tubes that feeds into a rib came off in mid air. I took the kite back and another guy helped me ziptie it and didn't charge me for it. Everyone was so extremely friendly. I ended up bringing my friends back and we all bought some stuff. Such a good store. I also bought new foot holds for me board and they attached them for me. I highly recommend this place and will go back the next time I'm there.

Wow ! What a great time. The staff, location and equipment was top of the line. Loved it. Learning in warm shallow water really made it more comfortable and gave me confidence. I recommend it to anyone looking to make learning to kite board faster and easier. My only advice ..remember your sunblock !!

Terrible customer service! I had some confusion on the model year of the kite that I purchased online. Instead of being helpful and trying to resolve the issues, they dodged the issue stopped returning my phone calls. From my experience they are not interested in helping you out after a purchase has been made. Buyer beware!

Dear Clark, Thank you very much for the review. It is always great to hear from our customers whether we are receiving praise or the opposite. In this case I wanted to apologize for the experience you received when talking to REAL and endeavoring to sort out an issue which needed to be clarified. At REAL we try every day to make the customer experience better, more seamless and totally focused on your needs. In this case we appear to have failed and this upsets me and all of my team. Assuming the answer you desire was never fully explained, I would be happy to help out and see what I can do to clarify any details which are still grey regarding the year and model of kite you received. My direct line is 252-987-6032.. Similarly my e-mail is toby@realwatersports.com. I would be happy to discuss any suggestions you have for better service and to hopefully resolve the issue at hand. All the best and I hope you are managing some great days out on the water. It has been blowing down here over the last few days. Happy faces everywhere. I just had an amazing time learning to kiteboard over the weekend. First off, Sean was a great instructor, so hats off to him for covering everything from the basics. Considering the facilities, location, equipment, I don't think anyone could ask for better place to learn and ride. Oh, and the food was awesome as well.

Stoked you had such fun James! See you again soon :)

Awesome place! Live music, epic sunset view with kite surfers on the horizon. Ordered the crab cakes and they were delicious, along with the veggies and mashed potatoes. Giving 4 stars because there was only one server running all over the place, doing his best, and specially the bar tender outside was not very nice. Totally recommend this place and will go back for sure!

Although they can be pricey for the new stuff they do have great deals on demo and older model kites. One of the best places to learn how to kite period and the staff is super nice and inviting.

Thanks Adrien. See you soon for some more sessions!

This is the fourth KB school I've been to. It is bar far the best learning experience I've had. The instructors, staff, equipment, and location are off the charts great. I can't imagine taking another lesson without the instructor being next to me on a jet ski. I will definitely return.
Response from the owner - 10 months ago
Awesome! Can't wait to see you again soon Jeff.

Good selection of gear and kite know-how. No place for surfers though, staff has no idea about waves, boards etc.
Response from the owner - 10 months ago
Nick, Sorry you couldn't find any of our surf-crazed staff while you were here. We have lots of staff during the summer that are kite experts but also have a team of passionate, dedicated surfers who are on it every time it's on (many of us here have been surfing for over 15 years). Stop by the shop next time you are on the island and we'll key you in to the best sandbars :)
