So it seems if you mention +Brandon Badger and #ingress and create your own art, then you may possibly get an early invite. Here goes...

Geek points if you can explain the physics behind this:

This is strangely hypnotic:  32 randomly-started metronomes converge to become perfectly in sync.

There's some kind of metaphor in here...

That's my guess as well. The one on the right gets there by the end of the video btw.

Engage!

The Warp Drive Could Become Science Fact

A warp drive to achieve faster-than-light travel -- a concept popularized in television's Star Trek -- may not be as unrealistic as once thought, scientists say. A warp drive would manipulate space-time itself to move a starship, taking advantage of a loophole in the laws of physics that prevent anything from moving faster than light.

Was just watching the Star Trek reboot the other day and realized that the guy who spaced jumped with Sulu and Kirk was wearing red too.

I'm sure whatever they're about to do will work out just fine...

I think a lot of it is marketing too. I had a guy at work say that Macs are better for graphics that's why everyone in graphics use it. But, I remember when I was in college MS gave all of the students W2K, Office and Visual Studio. All of the students went into IT and Software Dev which is dominated by MS products. I remember at the same time Apple was giving their OS and products to art schools. Marketing.

Self driving cars for the public in 5 years
As someone who puts over 30,000 miles a year on his work vehicle, often at odd hours of night, I cant wait!

Maybe you can have it take you home if you get in and down't tell it where to go after so many minutes?

At first, glance I thought these were birds. Click the picture and have a closer look. They are goats. Incredible.

Alpine Ibex goats native to the Alps and known for their awesome climbing abilities. Although they are usually found in the rocky mountain slopes at about 15,000 above sea-level -- clearly, they have no problem navigating man-made structures, too.

What is the reaction on the street from those who get to hold and play with the new iPhone 5?

Jimmy Kimmel finds out, ..except the new iPhone isn't available yet.

*To be fair, I think this might work with many brands. :-)

Android outsells iPhone and that won't change. I think their market share will continue to drop. However iPhone versus previous model? I am going on record that the 5 will outsell the 4 easily maybe even the 4s. I felt a general disgust over the suit, but when I explained it to some one upgrading from Win 6.5 who wanted to know my preference, it was clear it wasn't a factor for consideration.

Lest you think I've gone to the darkside:

Yosemite Trip
If you have never been to Yosemite or Half Dome, hopefully these pictures and video will give you some idea of what there is to see and do. The views are breathtaking in person and I don't think a phone camera can replicate being there, but I tried.

+Craig Techak weight savings, not to mention that nowadays the phone is a survival tool being that there is coverage even in the wilderness most of the time and it has GPS.

I suppose you could strap your phone to a tree and do a delay timer thing using an app. Then the wife and I could be in pictures together! Gotta look into that.
