Joedb 2.0 has just been released: https://www.remi-coulom.fr/joedb/index.html

• Exceptions everywhere: no more error codes, no more bad states, better diagnostics.
• Safety: several safety-checks were added. This version was thoroughly fuzzed, and should not crash on any input file. Many assertions were added to detect data-manipulation errors (double delete, double insert, reading invalid rows, etc.).
• Better handling of read-only files and locking. A file opened for writing can now be opened for reading by other processes. Readers won’t be updated by changes made by the writer, but it is still more convenient than before.
• The compiler can produce a rudimentary C wrapper around the C++ classes.
• joedb_to_json
• Tested on big-endian and 32-bit machines
• Many minor fixes and improvements

Chinese Go player Ke Jie is expected to compete against Google’s artificial-intelligence program AlphaGo in 2016, according to China’s General Administration of Sports. The date and site of the competition are yet to be announced. Ke Jie, the 18-year-old player with three world titles, is one of the strongest rivals of South Korea’s Go player Lee Se-dol, who was defeated by AlphaGo earlier this year.
