Thinking about fireworks already? Here’s something close to it: a nice visual history of OpenStack: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Rk7EImAj3VM +Matthias Grawinkel used Gource to visualize all commits ever made to OpenStack’s repositories.

Back to the roots: we’re currently at #SC16, demoing Quobyte for #HPC workloads. If you’re around, come by booth 3669 and check out the benefits of doing /scratch, /home, and /archive in software.

Great look inside +SysEleven's next-gen data center (aka #SDDC). Be sure to also check the comments where +Kristian Köhntopp shares even more of the details (that one’s in German).
2x 25 GBit/s per machine connected to +Mellanox Technologies Spectrum SN2410 as Top of Rack Switches, and then 1 TBit/s at the Top of Rack in a leaf and spine configuration for a wait-free, oversubscription-free network. +Thomas Eichhorn built that taking zero prisoners.

+Quobyte as a distributed file system, +Midokura as the SDN and +OpenStack as the VM orchestrator on top.

The result is a datacenter network in wich any core in any box can talk to any disk in any other box without being held back - a true cloud computing substrate in which location constraints do no longer exist inside the data center.

+SysEleven does build hosting solutions that scale and perform. Talk to them.

+Quobyte is the storage foundation for +Giant Swarm’s excellent microservices infrastructure. Check out how it helps by running inside containers and enabling rolling updates: https://www.quobyte.com/case-studies/giant-swarm
