Quest Families,

We had a wonderful first week of school! It was good to see so many of you at Back to School Night and throughout the school these last few days.

Parking Lot Reminders:
We have noticed parents walking from the parking lot to the school without using the crosswalks. Please, for your own safety and to set a good example for students, ALWAYS use the crosswalks. Also, remember to pull forward as far as you can, regardless of which building your child attends.
Regarding HOV, there has been a car or two not picking up the minimum number of students. Please remember that in order to keep your pass, 4 or more students must be picked up on a daily basis.

Thanks to all those who participated in Friday night’s Pokemon Go activity. There was a great turn out and everyone seemed to have a blast.

Uniform Reminders:
Please review our uniform policy to ensure students are compliant. Remember that leggings should be navy, red, or white only. Skirts and shorts should be no shorter than 2” above the center of the knee and socks should be SOLID navy, red, or white. Tops should be collared, as well as solid navy, red, or white.

Thanks for all you do!

Quest Families,
We had a wonderful time at the Carnival—especially those of us who participated in the dunk tank. ;) Thank you for your support.
POQA is asking for volunteers for Field Day this Friday from 8:00 to 1:30. Please call Rachel Hopkins at (801)389-0965 if you are available to help.
POQA is selling The Rush Funplex fun passes for $15 (a $23 value). These passes include 2 hours of unlimited activities (bowling, 3D mini golf, laser tag, go-karts, batting cages, the bounce kids zone, the aquatic center, and the Battle Blaster). Passes can be purchased at the Q1 front office.
Thursday and Friday are short days this week. Also, all students will need to bring a sack lunch (non microwavable) to school on Friday as the lunch room will be used during field day for various activities. Please note that Thursday is NOT a dress down day and Friday IS a dress down day.
As class lists are not quite ready for the upcoming school year, you should expect an email near the end of next week with your child’s class placement. Students will still have an opportunity to meet the teachers in the upcoming grade on Friday, but they’ll need to wait for the email to know which specific teacher they’ll have.
Thanks for a great year!

Quest families,

Good news! We are an official STEM school! The state recently recognized us along with only 18 other schools in the entire state of Utah. Go Quest!

If your child has not had a chance to sign up for the Quest talent show (kindergarten through 5th grade), please do so by today (5/17/19) at 3:00 PM. You can sign up by clicking on the following link (you may need to copy and paste the link into your browser rather than clicking on the link): https://docs.google.com/forms/d/193sS7JHz9wgd-WivDW7bXQ1BSPCZeH3IxTWZvR8_PZc/viewform?c=0&w=1
Please note that all performances should be two minutes or less.

Parents, will you also check to ensure that your children do not have a negative lunch balance? In order for your child to have pizza this Friday for lunch there will need to be money in their account. Thank you for your help in this regard.

Quest Families,
The school’s performance of Pirates of Penzance was a great success! Thanks to Mrs. Dunmeyer, Mrs. Richins, and Mrs. Zimmerman for organizing and planning this spectacular event. We also want to thank our amazing students and their parents for their hours of hard work and devotion.
Next week we will have an earthquake drill on Thursday, April 21 at 10:15am. This drill is organized by the Great Utah Shakeout. Feel free to visit the website for more information: shakeout.org/Utah
In the past, Quest Academy has considered teacher requests from parents for the upcoming school year. We believe that all students should be challenged at their academic ability using the Utah Core Standards. We achieve this goal by implementing a supported teaching model (STM). STM consists of all students being included in the general education classroom. These classes are leveled based on academic ability. As a result of this, it is difficult to place students in classrooms based on parent request—doing so would impede our ability to place students in an environment most conducive to their learning. If parents have concerns regarding the placement of their child with another child, or similar issues, please feel free to click on the below link and fill out the survey. Please note that it may be necessary to copy and paste the link into your browser rather than just clicking on it. The survey will close on Sunday, April 17.
