Run Run Run---- Room 202 is AWFUL - Hot water is a joke- The noise level is unbearable people under windows All hours of the night . Alley is right below - trash trucks- delivery trucks- cars - buses extremely loud .. Would not recommend this to my worst enemy.

Older Waikiki-style hotel, rennovated ~2010. Genuine sincere staff, all helpful. Excellent rates for proximity to beach, zoo, Waikiki. Only downside is outside street/garbage trucks noise. Request higher than 6th floor, choose superior room on zoo side, maybe floor #10. Finally, excellent pool, sunning deck on 3rd floor, tasty sausage egg breakfast, prices reasonable. We'll stay again in 2014!

This hotel has no restaurant forcing people to find other places to eat. They do have a breakfast buffet. It is way overpriced and it is only available from 6 to 9:30am. When we visited this hotel 5 years ago they had a full service restaurant and it was great. Since then they had a change is ownership and did away with the restaurant. Very poor planning.

Great value and the best view along the strip. As it is on the corner, it means that you have a clear view of the Diamond Head mountain / volcano which the others don't have. A short walk along to the beach and all the shops and restaurants It is also opposite the Zoo!

This was the worst hotel experience. We selected this hotel because it had good reviews and a reasonable rate. Little did I know that we would be given the last horrible room in the hotel. We had to check in late due to our late flight arrival. We were given a room by the elevators that had two smaller than twin size beds that were horribly uncomfortable. They were hard and small. I kept feeling like I was going to fall out of bed. The pillows were too big and hard as well. When we asked for another room we were told we could not move because it was the last one and that we should push the beds together. We had reserved a room a couple weeks prior, we were not a walk-in. There was a refrigerator next to one of the beds that made a clicking sound all night to the point I had to unplug it. There was a pipe to something on the ceiling, the bathroom was old and dirty. The room had its own air conditioning unit that sounded like a train as well. When we wanted quiet, we had to turn the unit off. When we did that the room heated up quickly, it was a lose- lose situation. The elevator outside of the room could be heard all night. I also think we were under the bar. The hotel is also located in a bad part of the Waikiki strip with several homeless people lying all over the sidewalk, sketchy people hanging around, and the frequent wafting odor of urine in the air. I did not get any sleep at all. We checked out as fast as possible in the morning, and they were mad at us because we didn't fulfill the full reservation.

We love older hotels. The Queen K is a lovely hotel with beautiful architecture. The desk staff is very helpful and very accomodating. We spent our 15th wedding anniversay there last week. We had a room with a view of Diamond Head, and it was gorgeous! Our package included the breakfast buffet, which was delicious! I would have liked a Queen or King bed, but the double worked out fine. My only issue was with the housekeeping staff. The room was always very clean, but on at least three occasions the housekeeper didn't get to our room until after 3 p.m. After the first day, we worked around that, but the first time it happened, we let them in to clean, which meant I couldn't get to the bathroom to dry my hair. This delay caused us to be late for our tour pick-up. Cost to us -- $140.00 cab ride to Paradise Cove. Not real happy about the extra expense. Other than that, the hotel is one block off Waikiki Beach, across from the Honolulu Zoo. Our room was on the 7th floor, so it was very quiet. We will be going back to Hawaii, and if we go to Oahu, we will stay at the Queen K!
