Do I Need A Pool Safety Certificate?

There is currently a lot of confusion regarding pool safety certificates and the requirements from 1st December 2015.  If you are selling or leasing a residential property with a non-shared pool, you will need a pool safety certificate – the same requirement as now. If you are not selling or leasing your property, you normally do not require a pool safety certificate, there are some exceptions to this, for example if you are running a home base child care service.
From 1st December, you are required however, to ensure your pool safety barrier meets the current pool safety standard. A check list is available as a free download from our website www.qldpoolinspections.com for you to check for common areas of non compliance yourself.
For peace of mind we provide a Consultative Pool Inspection Service, we check your property is entered on the pool safety register and your pool barrier is compliant.  Following our consultative pool inspection we provide either a letter advising that your pool complies, or written advice on the areas your pool is non-compliant, together with suggested remedial action. This is an ideal service if you want to ensure your pool is safe and meets the required legislation, but you do not require a certificate.
