Extremely sad. My heart goes out to everyone as this affects us all.

Terrible to note that even after all these series of incidents there are no strong proactive measures being taken to cut down recurrences of these simply because of politics & the influential pro-gun lobby.

I will cast aspersions and search for blame another day, today I mourn.

We're sorry to hear about this Punit.  I know that the Punjab and all that calls it the homeland mourns today.

I cannot stand the number thing.  After 9/11, I just stopped thinking that way.  It is too numbing and heart-breaking and soul-destroying.  I found this poem.  It has helped me:  "After the first death, there is no other."  May you mourn fully so as to love and be ready for better days ahead.

"A Refusal to Mourn the Death, by Fire, of a Child in London"

Never until the mankind making
Bird beast and flower
Fathering and all humbling darkness
Tells with silence the last light breaking
And the still hour
Is come of the sea tumbling in harness

And I must enter again the round
Zion of the water bead
And the synagogue of the ear of corn
Shall I let pray the shadow of a sound
Or sow my salt seed
In the least valley of sackcloth to mourn

The majesty and burning of the child's death.
I shall not murder
The mankind of her going with a grave truth
Nor blaspheme down the stations of the breath
With any further
Elegy of innocence and youth.

Deep with the first dead lies London's daughter,
Robed in the long friends,
The grains beyond age, the dark veins of her mother,
Secret by the unmourning water
Of the riding Thames.
After the first death, there is no other.
Dylan Thomas

This (and all such shootings) are an attack on the fabric of our country.

Shootings such as this are the manifestation of a sick mind.

This is a sad day for America when such an open-minded people are victims of such a senseless act.

+Punit Soni the families have my condolences. +Raja Mitra we haven't even left the day it happened yet and people are already turning it into a political issue, how sad. Its not a lobby that keeps it from happening, its all the average people like me who will ensure whoever passes such a measure are voted out.

Stick with our shared humanity. Grief shared is the only way through. So sad.

My heartfelt sympathies to the families of the victims, and all in the Sikh community. Unfortunately my own community, the +Ahmadiyya Muslim Community, is no stranger to hate crime having suffered many similar attacks especially in Pakistan.

Again, condolences to the Sikh community. You will only be stronger as a result of bearing the loss with humility.
