Teachers and homeschool educators are invited to a free open house at Pueblo Grande Museum (PGM) on Saturday, August 18 from 10 a.m. to noon. Get to know how history, Native cultures, and art come together at Phoenix’s only preserved prehistoric archaeological site from the Hohokam culture. Explore how PGM’s S.T.E.A.M. focused field trips, outreaches, archaeology activities, and hands-on crafts can enhance the classroom experience! When teaching about the history of Arizona, start at the beginning with Pueblo Grande Museum!

As an added benefit, attendees of this open house will have the opportunity to book their field trips that day, two-weeks before tour reservations open for the season! There is no fee to attend this open house, educators can register online at pueblogrande.com to reserve a seat.

Celebrate Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! at Pueblo Grande Museum on Saturday, September 22 with fun, family friendly programming and the opportunity to get free museum admission! In the spirit of Smithsonian Museums accessibility to all who are interested, Museum Day Live! is an annual event hosted by Smithsonian Magazine in which participating museums across the country open their doors to anyone presenting a Museum Day Ticket... for free. This year, Museum Day will showcase WOMEN MAKING HISTORY: trailblazers in the arts, sciences, innovation & culture.

In honor of Museum Day Live! Pueblo Grande Museum will have gallery tours, artifact show and tell stations, and fun prehistoric archaeology and Hohokam related crafts available throughout the day. For more information on Smithsonian Magazine’s Museum Day Live! and to print off a ticket for two free admissions, visit their website at smithsonianmag.com/museumday.
