"Where do multinationals pay taxes and how much?" Gaining insight from international tax experts, Backlight director Marije Meerman ('Quants' & 'Money & Speed'), takes a look at tax havens, the people who live there and the routes along which tax is avoided globally.

Those routes go by resounding names like 'Cayman Special', 'Double Irish', and 'Dutch Sandwich'. A financial world operates in the shadows surrounded by a high level of secrecy. A place where sizeable capital streams travel the world at the speed of light and avoid paying tax. The Tax Free Tour is an economic thriller mapping the systemic risk for governments and citizens alike. Is this the price we have to pay for globalised capitalism?

At the same time, the free online game "Taxodus" by Femke Herregraven is launched. In the game, the player can select the profile of a multinational and look for the global route to pay as little tax as possible.

The US government’s latest report on the Boston Marathon bombing is so full of revealing information buried in plain sight, it seems as if an insider is imploring someone—anyone—to dig deeper. It reads like the work of an unhappy participant in a cover-up.
In this lengthy review of the newly released, but heavily blacked-out, government inspectors general report on the Boston Marathon Bombing, we read carefully between the lines and find some astonishing possibilities. Including a remarkable explanation of why so very many government officials seem afraid to speak the truth, and why it seems possible to pull off an almost impossible cover-up. Here, perhaps, is why so many things about Boston’s trag...

On the standard, commercial television channels we hear about extreme weather virtually every single day. Droughts in the southwest hardly seen since the days of the Dust Bowl and bizarre weather such as we saw this winter of snow in Houston, vast wildfires in California, mudslides north of Seattle and massive flooding in nothing other than hip and affluent Boulder, Colorado have besieged our beautiful country and world.

Maybe you heard: the Russians are responsible for the Boston Marathon Bombing. At least indirectly.

That’s what the New York Times says. Had the Russians told the Americans everything they knew about Tamerlan Tsarnaev, the bombing might have been averted by the FBI. The Times knows this because it was told so by an anonymous “senior American official” who got an advance look at a report from the “intelligence community.”
From the start, we’ve seen evidence that the US government, aided and abetted by the media, has been hiding something about what it knows regarding the Boston Marathon bombing. Now, a calculated leak seeks to pin the blame on Russia and to exonerate the FBI. What does this latest distraction hide? A lot, it seems.

This is the story of the Japanese tsunami and the nuclear catastrophe which happened afterwards, seen through the eyes of the Japanese children. The tsunami hit on a Friday afternoon just before the school ended that day. It demolished many schools along 200 miles of Japan's north-east coast. All the schools were evacuated to high ground except for Okawa Primary School. The earthquake which created the tsunami hit at 14:46 on the 11th of March. The quake measured 9 degrees on the Richter scale and lasted for more than two minutes. Before reaching Okawa Primary School, the tsunami would devastate two other schools near the sea. The teachers at the first school managed to get the children to higher ground. Then the tsunami flooded the second primary school where teachers and children successfully escaped to the roof. Now the tsunami aimed for Okawa, the school two miles inland. More than 1/2 hour had passed since the beginning of the disaster and around 100 children were still in the school recreation area, lingering about. The teachers were arguing whether to go up the highland behind the school or head for the adjoining bridge. During that half an hour the tsunami created an unimaginable amount debris along 200 miles of Japan's Pacific shoreline, and took 19,000 lives. As the tsunami died down, a 100 miles south of Okawa Primary School - in Fukushima - another tragedy happened. The tsunami broke the cooling systems at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Power Station and nuclear fuel in three of its reactors began to melt down. As the authorities were trying to take back the control over the plant, one of the reactors blew up. Two days after the explosion, a second blast discharged smog of radioactive dust high into the atmosphere. Twenty six hours after the tsunami, Japan broadcasted an evacuation order to everyone residing within 12 miles of the plant. Over the next two days 80,000 people deserted their homes.

Please see the update of this clip. After watching many vids sent to me I found a device in the red falling object in my clip. Knowing this I am changing the title of this clip as it has caused way too much fear - I wanted to create awareness of chemplanes. For that I am sorry and will strive to better title my work.

I now think this is a device dropped from a chem plane that helps them track their efforts in some way. All that debris looks like metallic particles that might help the tracking - or maybe we just do not know. It is a bit shocking to see this over houses though.

Thank you all for getting this clip out as it did cause many to think about what is being dropped and sprayed over our heads. PLEASE FILM THESE PLANES AND POST WHAT YOU SEE - IT IS NOT RIGHT!

This is an agglomeration of various stories I've been covering lately, and others I've missed, with the primary message being that our lovely clandestine government can adapt to new technologies, to do what they've been for at least 66 years, probably longer but not as implacably and relentlessly. Sometimes, with all the information coming in, we have to see it again, presented in a different way...

Breaking Bad star Bryan Cranston invoked the ire of Fox News on April 7 by praising the Affordable Care Act during a recent interview, saying President Obama's health care program "is fantastic" because "I don't think basic health care should be a privilege of the rich."
