Cold weather is right around the corner. That means fireplace season is about to start. Fireplace inspections often get overlooked. When was your last #chimneyinspection
According to the Chimney Safety Institute of America, “chimneys should be inspected once a year for soundness, freedom from deposits, and correct clearances. Cleaning, maintenance, and repairs shall be done if necessary. “
Many chimney Sweep companies recommend getting your inspection done in the spring after the burning season. Doing it in the spring means it’s easier to get an appointment and you have a several months of good weather to have any repairs competed before the next burning season starts.
If you’re already on a regular chimney cleaning schedule, you should be good to go for this season. If you haven’t had your chimney inspected in a while, now’s the time to do it.
