ANNA SEE linocut.

Linocut is a printmaking technique, a variant of woodcut in which a sheet of linoleum (sometimes mounted on a wooden block) is used for the relief surface. A design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, V-shaped chisel or gouge, with the raised (uncarved) areas representing a reversal (mirror image) of the parts to show printed. The linoleum sheet is inked with a roller (called a brayer), and then impressed onto paper or fabric. The actual printing can be done by hand or with a press.

One of our artists (Patrick Sargent) was selected to be one of 4 artists to present their community art project during the CRAVE dinner at the Torpedo Factory this Sunday evening.

The more supporters there all the better. The dinner (and fees) are just $16.37 per person and the highest vote getter gets the proceeds to fund their idea.

He is presenting his traveling art making cart made from surplus military equipment. Deploy this throughout the local area and start thinking community building through making stuff.

CRAVE tickets are available via Eventbrite at http://torpedofactory.org/crave/. There will be a small number of tickets at the door as well.
