Brought my wife here as a surprise a few years back. It's been an annual trek for us ever since. Staff is very chill and we really like the upstairs laid back vibe. Food is absolutely next level. Highest recommendations. :)

Let me qualify my 3 star rating by saying Primo has great food. No doubt. The mid-grade rating has nothing to do with the quality of their food but everything to do with the atmosphere we experienced. According to their website, they have great ethos and I love that they grow and harvest a lot of their own food. But instead of making that their selling point, they put on very pretentious airs and didn't mention what or where their food came from a single time during our dinner, except when we asked about one of the dishes. My other complaint is that the restaurant was so dark that we couldn't see the food we were eating, and in fact had to use the flashlights on our phone to read the menu, and then later to help the server filet one of our friends fish. If we're ever back in Rockland, we may go back, but it will be during daylight hours when we can actually see what we're eating, and hopefully have time to tour their farm.

Exceeded expectations! We waited months for our reservation and planned a long weekend around this dinner which did not disappoint. The service was impeccable and the dining was unlike any other. The combination of fresh foods from the garden with the local catch made for new delightful experiences we cant wait to come back for. The little town of Rockland is very fortunate. Make room for dessert - the choices are impossible and you cant go wrong but if on the menu a must try is the Affogato or crème brule popover.

My husband and I went to Primo's on 10/4/2013, it was our 49th anniversary. We were in the area for a few days and saw the write-up on line and decided to try it. What a TREAT!! The food was the best we have had in years! The service team was wonderful. We did not have a a reservation and were seated upstairs. The old victorian home is done as it should be done, it has retained all of it's old charm. The menu has so many wonderful choices it was very hard to decide. Our choices were the best. I think no matter what you order, it will be great. As full as we were, we ordered the dessert that has one of each of their choices, we finished it all!! Also, our waitress brought us a special dessert with "Happy Anniversay 49th! All in all a wonderful evening. Thanks to the waitstaff!!! Maryann

Great restaurant. You can't go wrong! The chef just won the James Beard award for best chef in New England. You need a reservation unless you go to the upstairs, but make sure you get there early, before the doors open, if you want the upstairs. It fills up fast!..especially in July & August.

Ridiculously outrageously good food! There are way too many gastro happy choices on the menu to even begin to sample in one visit. Pricey, yes.... busy, yes..... worth every penny, you bet!!! The thought put into each plate, drink, and morsel is monumental. There are very few places that i would ever drive an hour away to eat at... nevermind 5 hours!! Thank you for putting soo much effort into a sustainable menu made for supreme indulgence.
