Meet our #TBT Success Nick Palumbo Sr.

He has lost 120 pounds since having the gastric sleeve performed by Dr. Seun (Dr. Seun Sowemimo) in August 2016 at +CentraState Healthcare Systems in #Freehold, NJ.

"I follow the game plan Dr. Seun's staff gave me, concentrating on eating protein and taking vitamin supplements," Nick says. "I work out 3-5/week and watch what I eat."

A testimonial from our sleeve gastrectomy bariatric surgery patient Austin Mauceri

One year ago, I went under the knife and had gastric sleeve surgery. After years of struggling with my weight, and many health issues, I made a decision to change, permanently.

One year ago:

• I weighed 220 pounds.
• I was a type 2 diabetic and my doctor recommended I start insulin
• I was taking medication to manage rheumatoid arthritis
• I was diagnosed with infertility

These medical reasons, combined with several personal reasons, pushed me to make this change. I was 24-years-old and refused to accept that living with these health conditions was my fate.

Jump forward one year—

• I have lost 100 pounds
• I no longer show any signs I was ever diabetic.
• I no longer show heightened rheumatoid levels, nor do I need to be on medication anymore, a simple ibuprofen does the trick on rainy days.
• I’ve been given the blessed news that one day I'll be able to have a family.

Today I weigh 120 pounds!

I'm healthy and the person I always wanted to be, physically, mentally, emotionally.

Having weight loss surgery has completely changed my life in so many ways for the better. I'm so glad I took the leap and kept fighting.

I am so blessed that God pointed me in the direction of the amazing Dr. Seun Sowemimo and bariatric dietitian Lori Skurbe. Without them guiding me and helping me, I'd still be on insulin, Metformin, hormone replacements and a slew of other medications I no longer need to take.

I want to thank EVERYONE from the bottom of my heart who has stuck by throughout my amazing journey. I would not have been able to do this alone. I'm so thankful for the support group I have.
Thank you all for pushing me when I just wanted to give up. You're all amazing and I love you all dearly.

Here's to 100 pounds GONE and NEVER giving up!
