Chris offered great advice and I was able to clear the AC line myself. He charged me only for the service call. I would definitely use Precision again.

What a great experience. Sam, James, Joel and Thomas were all super-professional and nice! We lost our air conditioner in on the hottest week of the year. They all went above and beyond to quickly get us cool again at a very fair price. They even gave us a mobile unit until we were up and running again. Great attention to the little details most don't do, including watching out for the dogs, sweeping the drive of debris every night and vacuuming each night. I can whole-heartedly say they will do a fantastic job at a fair price!

AC broke in August 2016 just before I had to leave for a business trip. Called several companies and Precision actually answered. Scheduled service for when I'd arrive home. Was surprised/disappointed they didn't show up first thing in the morning since I'd called three days before (they arrived at noon). But once they did arrive, Shelton was great. He quickly determined it was the blower motor. He didn't have one to replace it, but said he'd come back that evening to replace it. He also serviced the entire system and made sure everything else was running smoothly. Really appreciated his honesty and customer service. He also gave me his business cell and texted to let me know when he'd return. I thought Precision was going to call to check on things a couple days later, but they must be slammed right now. Overall, recommend their services.

Prompt service, even on a Sunday! Half as much as the weekend service fee we found elsewhere, and the tech was great. Diagnosed and fixed the issue quickly, and pointed out some other issues that may come up in the future. Very helpful, great service. Would definitely call again.

Excellent service from scheduling to installation and follow-up after install. Every time I spoke with someone who said I'd get a call back followed through exactly when they said they would. They even did the install on Father's Day Sunday! Very highly recommended. I've used other companies in Austin before, but Precision is our go-to AC company now.

Precision was great. They were the only company I called that answered the phone. They quickly scheduled me in on a Sunday. Once they got here, only took a few minutes to find the issue. Quickly fixed it and my A/C was back up and running. Will definitely call again when I have another A/C problem.

What an amazing experence, from the person who answered the phone and scheduled to service to the utterly fantastic Jose who did the service!! I can't recomend them enough. We had the blower motor fail and I requested Jose because of my outstanding service. Same great service again. Cannot recommend more!!

This is a strange review because I didn't actually get my HVAC system serviced by Precision, however I did get my Bronco stuck in the mud yesterday. I mean super stuck, like down a hill, in a ditch, in a small river. I called a tow truck and was ready to pay ungodly amounts of money to get out. But wait! Who shows up in a beautiful, black Ram 2500! Joe F*#*in Strazza, the President of Precision Heating & Air. We hook the Bronco up to the steel replacement bumper of his diesel beast and with a cloud of beautiful black smoke, flying mud, and spinning tires, I am out of the ditch and back on dry land in two winks of a coal miner's eye! When I have HVAC needs, I am going to call Precision Heating & Air because they are simply good people. Thanks Joe! You're a life saver.

MYTH: Duct tape is good for sealing ducts.

FACT: Duct tapes has many great uses. But despite the name, it actually does a pretty lousy job at sealing ducts. It doesn’t work well in dirty or dusty conditions…and you can’t get dirtier or dustier than an air duct. Also, the tape tends to fall off as it ages and the adhesive dries out. Mastic tape sticks, seals and insulates much better.

MYTH: There’s no benefit in adjusting your thermostat when you don’t need heating or cooling…such as at night or when nobody’s home.

FACT: Research shows that the longer your house stays at a reduced temperature when heating or at an increased temperature when cooling, the more energy and money you will save. This is because heating and cooling cost depends mostly on the difference between indoor and outdoor temperature. When you adjust the temperature down in the winter or up in the summer, you simply reduce this temperature difference. In fact, setting your temperature back 10 or more degrees for 8 hours while you sleep or go to work can reduce your energy bill by 5-15%. A programmable thermostat can adjust temperatures automatically for you.

MYTH: Leaving a fan running in a room when it’s empty will allow the AC unit to cool the room faster.

FACT: A fan moves air against a your skin, making YOU feel cooler. However, the actual air temperature isn’t lowered. What you are doing is wasting energy. You should use fans when your actually in the room.

MYTH: For faster cooling, set the temperature below what you want it to be.

FACT: Sounds logical, but AC systems cool at a set rate. You can’t make it cool faster by setting the temperature lower.

MYTH: Price is the most important factor when making a purchase of a new HVAC system.

FACT: Price plays a significant role in most people decision making. However, the most important long term factor that you should consider when purchasing a new HVAC system is who you choose for the installation. A energy efficient and properly sized system that has had all of the available rebates and incentives applied and then financed (as needed) by preferred sources will provide you not only the best deal when installed, but will perform reliably and cost less to run for the life of the system. If a system costs $500 more upfront but will save you that much or more each year. We will let you decide which option is better.

MYTH: You should turn the AC off all day if you are not at home.

FACT: When it is hot and humid, it is advisable to keep the AC running when you aren’t home to reduce humidity and allow the system to cool to a comfortable level in a reasonable time. If the outside temperature and humidity don’t warrant this, then there is no benefit of keeping the AC unit running continuously – but there is definitely reason to run the AC on hot and humid days when you aren’t home.

MYTH: Filters don’t really need to be changed regularly.

FACT: A dirty filter constricts air flow making your system work harder. If there is a common theme here, it is that regular maintenance will improve system performance and extend the life of your system. Regular filters should be changed every month in summer months and every 4-6 weeks during winter season.

MYTH: Short operations of A/C will reduce your energy bill

FACT: Your HVAC unit uses the most energy in the first 3-5 minutes of starting up. After that, it will use less energy, so if you constantly turn your unit on and off, you’re actually wasting energy. Instead, let it run for 40-50 minutes at a time to get the best efficiency.
