I came home from a vacation on Sunday evening to a steaming hot house and an AC that wasn't blowing cold air. It was 8:30 in the evening on Father's Day, during the 4th quarter of game 7 of the NBA finals, when Herman, a super friendly, efficient and knowledgeable technician, appeared at my door to fix my AC. That pretty much tells me Precision goes above and beyond to provide that 24/7 service. Herman was awesome, and my house went from a sweltering 92 degrees to a cool 79 within the hour. I found the price to be totally reasonable, especially given the emergency service.

Called Precision Heating & Air after hours when my AC was leaking water through the ceiling. Joe showed up in 30 mins, figured out where the leak was coming from & fixed it. He was very thorough & knowledgeable. He even vacuumed the area he was working in when he was done! He did an outstanding job & I am so thankful I called Precision! Highly, highly recommend Precision.

The office staff was well enough, but it was our technician, Joe Martel, that made this review go from a 3 to a 5 star! Joe was a pro, man. From start to finish, he was polite and professional. If you need your HVAC fixed, this is who you want crawling around in your ceiling. Hope you win Joe; thanks again for your help! - Colin with Two Men And A Truck

Joe was most helpful in his advise on our leaking AC unit. He is a good communicator. Its an ancient unit and really doesn't warrant repair vs replacing.

If you have an AC problem, these are the professionals you need to call. I've had good service and bad service with appliances and shops in the past being a home owner of 17 years. I have never had an issue with the services that Precision provides. Five years ago I had their guys come out and install a unit and the professionalism I was afforded at that time stands out to me even today. The visit was related to a full install and I am a tough critic. I could come up with nothing other than praise for what their team accomplished in 100 degree heat. Today I reached out to Precision because I suspected there was something wrong with my system and to my surprise a technician was available the same day. I met Joe who came out and who I asked every question I could think up. Each question was answered clearly and with courtesy. Joe checked every aspect of my ac unit and there were no surprises or insane bills. I was so impressed that I asked about and signed up for a regular service agreement which in my opinion was very affordable. Professional, timely, courteous, and affordable. A+

The technician, Joe, was extremely professional and an incredibly nice person. He got my AC up and running within 20 minutes, whereas a different company had been trying to fix the unit over the last four days. I highly recommend this company for your HVAC needs.

This is a long overdue review for a new AC installation job Precision Heating and Air did for us last February. We have a two story, 3400 sqft house that had only one zone and my husband's office and my daughter's bedroom were always too hot (both south and west facing). We were looking for options to cool these rooms separately from the rest of the house, and had talked to three different AC companies about installing ductless spit system units in those two rooms (while keeping our then existing central AC) vs. a complete overhaul and install a Carrier Infinity system which would split the whole house into different zones and control each zone separately. The other two AC companies were ok with installing the ductless split units (which would cost less than the overhaul), but Corey from Precision AC was the only one who felt strongly about doing it right from the start and not wasting time and money on the ductless split units which were cheaper in the short term but not the best solution for us long term. I appreciated him recommending the right solution instead of taking our money to do a job that he knew we would not be happy with. He was very confident and knowledgeable, given his extensive experience in the AC industry as well as specific experiences in installing the multi-zone Carrier Infinity system. His quote was not the lowest in terms of price but we felt that we could trust him to do a good job. Corey's team of installers (James, Nathanael, Sergio, and Justin) were very professional and worked long hours during the installation, and finished the job in only three and half days even though the estimate was longer. I was very concerned about fiberglass fallout, and Corey's team took good care cleaning up the floors of the rooms they were in. We had a walk through the day it was finished when Corey and team showed us how to program the control panel and answered our question, and some days later Corey came back to answer more of my questions and made some adjustments to the settings. In summary, Corey and his team did a great job with the installation, and afterward we were always taken care of by customer service when we had minor issues or made changes. The office staff is friendly over the phone and timely with scheduling service calls. The service technicians are different from the installation crew, but always professional and friendly as well. Now my husbands office and my daughter's bedroom (along with her bathroom and another bedroom) have their own zones and we can cool them separately as needed. Overall it had been a great experience working with Precision Heating and Air and we highly recommend them!

Precision Heating & Air is a great A/C company. I was honestly surprised when my repairman Joe M. called after 5 pm which is after Office Hours so I wasn't sure if he was coming but he called me and arrived promptly. Joe managed to figure out why my A/C wasn't working in one part of my house, and solved my problem and was very knowledgeable about heating and air conditioning and answered all my questions. 5/5 would call again.

MYTH: Price is the most important factor when making a purchase of a new HVAC system.

FACT: Price plays a significant role in most people decision making. However, the most important long term factor that you should consider when purchasing a new HVAC system is who you choose for the installation. A energy efficient and properly sized system that has had all of the available rebates and incentives applied and then financed (as needed) by preferred sources will provide you not only the best deal when installed, but will perform reliably and cost less to run for the life of the system. If a system costs $500 more upfront but will save you that much or more each year. We will let you decide which option is better.

MYTH: Short operations of A/C will reduce your energy bill

FACT: Your HVAC unit uses the most energy in the first 3-5 minutes of starting up. After that, it will use less energy, so if you constantly turn your unit on and off, you’re actually wasting energy. Instead, let it run for 40-50 minutes at a time to get the best efficiency.

MYTH: Energy efficiency doesn’t appeal to home buyers and doesn’t enhance a home’s future sales price of the home.

FACT: Not according to the National Association of Home Builders who is actively supporting programs such as the use of ENERGY STAR heaters, air conditioners and appliances, as well as its own Green Building Guidelines. A 2008 NAHB study shows that 51 percent of homebuyers are willing to pay up to $11,000 more if energy costs are reduced by just $1,000 annually.

MYTH: My HVAC equipment does not cost me much in energy to operate.

FACT: HVAC equipment is expensive to operate. The average business owner spends 45% to 50% of the yearly utility cost for heating and cooling. Lighting consumes another 30% to 35% while computers, electronics, and data systems consume the remainder. So its more than worth its weight to ensure your HVAC system is operating correctly and not costing you more money.

MYTH: I don’t need to be concerned with all this talk about “Indoor Air Quality”. My house is always clean.

FACT: Most of us spend much of our time indoors. Unfortunately, indoor air is far more polluted than outdoor air. According to the EPA, indoor air contains two to five times —and on occasion, as much as 100 times – more contaminants than outdoor air. But there is good news, here is more info and some ways to improve your indoor air quality: http://buff.ly/1SZKa0y

MYTH: Filters don’t really need to be changed regularly.

FACT: A dirty filter constricts air flow making your system work harder. If there is a common theme here, it is that regular maintenance will improve system performance and extend the life of your system. Regular filters should be changed every month in summer months and every 4-6 weeks during winter season.

MYTH: A thermostat’s location does not affect the heating and cooling.

FACT: Thermostats read the temperature of the proximal location where they are installed. If a thermostat is located near a heat source such as a very sunny window or wall copy machines then it may providing an inaccurate read of the overall environment.

MYTH: There’s no benefit in adjusting your thermostat when you don’t need heating or cooling…such as at night or when nobody’s home.

FACT: Research shows that the longer your house stays at a reduced temperature when heating or at an increased temperature when cooling, the more energy and money you will save. This is because heating and cooling cost depends mostly on the difference between indoor and outdoor temperature. When you adjust the temperature down in the winter or up in the summer, you simply reduce this temperature difference. In fact, setting your temperature back 10 or more degrees for 8 hours while you sleep or go to work can reduce your energy bill by 5-15%. A programmable thermostat can adjust temperatures automatically for you.

MYTH: Heat pumps do not have a long life expectancy because they operate 12 months of the year.

FACT: Not so … Dirt, improper application, poor service and lack of preventative maintenance tops the list for heat pump failures. As long as it is properly cared for, the life expectancy of newer heat pumps exceeds 15 years as long as they are properly maintained.
