P.S. -- I'm following this book up with the counter-argument "The Low-Carb Fraud" by "China Study" author T. Colin Cambell (FORKS OVER KNIVES). So, no worries. I'm going for a well-rounded lesson. :)

I’m an almost 30-year-old mom of three. (And yes, before you ask, my husband and I are considering a fourth. Considering. Carefully. Because our life is crazy.)
I’m married to a man that I suspect is somewhere on the Autism spectrum — leaning towards Aspergers — which he sometimes admits, but often denies.
My mom is approaching 60 — the diamond years!! — but is facing a serious battle against ovarian cancer. We all live together in a house that’s half her late husband’s and half hers. All this makes for some interesting stories about cohabiting.
My mom and I were business partners years ago. And that had to come to an end because my dad got sick and then she got sick, and I got pregnant. Then got pregnant again. And again. And again. And again. (I’m sure I’ll come to explain how five pregnancies only resulted in three children, but you can guess. No, it wasn’t abortion.)
Then I was forced to go back to work after a brief but much-needed time off to support my mom when she went on disability. I’ve since been trying to manage her business. Operative word being TRYING. It’s hard. Because, again, the three kids, married life and the sick mom. (Did I mention I’ve been pregnant five times throughout all this?)
Anyway, not to sound cynical but I love my life. I love my husband, my kids and my mom. But, it’s not been an easy few years.
And these are the chronicles of our life. Our world.
