I wanted to pose a Big Question related to reaching out to all Android users.....
Now that Android KitKat will support 512 MB RAM as well, how is Google planning to reach out to large no. of users with Android KitKat.
Suggestion & Requests: I would request Google for creating a tool that could help all users to upgrade their Android versions to the latest(supported version).
This will be like giving power to the end user to update to the custom Android version which would provide more seamless experience.
Some of the things that need to be done for this tool will be:
i) Compatibility checker: to check whether the mobile will be upgradable to any new version or not, are the drivers compatible, dual-sim etc. These options will later play a role when updating.
ii) Backing up the drivers of the device and while updating use them.
iii) Checking other configurations on which installation may be dependent - single/dual sim; Memory card slot; there might be other things like front camera, sensors also but these can be handles by apps and activated if hardware is available.
iv) After this setup, the device should work like any Google Nexus device with direct OTA upgrades available or direct upgrades provided to devices that are compatible.
Please give some thought in these ideas. All the users will be grateful if something like this could come up, so that users need not go to other ROMs like ClockWorkMod etc. I think Google means business in Android too - through advertisement, and if it is able to keep the users to its own Custom Android, it will definitely be good for it.
