Our La Milagrosa Geisha is now on Kyoto for a limited time.

The tropical and stone fruit notes of this coffee is truly mouthwatering. It is floral, sweet, and possesses some really nice body to balance it all out. This is Portola Coffee Lab exclusive.
Kyoto $8 while it lasts!

You can also shop these exquisite beans at www.portolacoffeelab.com

One of our most popular drinks ever, the Affogato is back inside Theorem this month. Stop in and enjoy the dreamy combination of creamy hand made ice cream topped with our freshly roasted espresso.

"New logo, same great taste."
These are our new coffee bags. Have you seen our new look yet? Swing by our shop to see our changes, and definitely take a moment to browse our beautifully redesigned website at www.PortolaCoffeeLab.com

We want to say thank you to Sarah Armstrong and her incredible team at A Name Brand Co. for their strong artistic eye, hard work and dedication to making our new design come to life.

"Taking their namesake, Gaspar de Portola, we built their new brand around this spirit of adventure and exploration. Incorporating lots of textures, patterns, and colors, we were able to not only mature the look of Portola, but really set them up to share some incredible stories about their coffee discoveries and grow with all of their new locations opening soon.” Sarah Armstrong

I was just drinking the Kochere from the new packaging this morning. Lover-ly for both the coffee and bag of beans!

Portola Coffee Lab is named the 2015 Micro Roaster of the Year.

Coffee roasted to flavor, and brewed to order. Uncompromising quality and experience.

The Portola Coffee Lab is a coffee experience unlike anything else in Southern California.

Our goal is to roast and prepare coffee in a way that lets the coffee speak for itself. So that you can taste all of the nuances that our carefully sourced coffee beans have to offer. We never dark roast anything, but rather roast coffee to (in our opinions) its best flavor potential. And we give you a chance to experience these flavors in ways that cannot be found anywhere else.

"Fresh coffee tastes better." Jeff Duggan

Hip cafe where baristas in lab coats brew house-roasted coffees to order using multiple methods.- Google
"We ordered the French toast and breakfast burrito as well."
"But that Tres Leches Latte, hot or iced, is the way to go!"

Very hipster, but probably worth it if you're really into coffee. I had a V60 pour-over and it was admittedly, a really smooth cup of coffee. Not too expensive either so worth a shot.

Slow service but the coffee is good. I think there is a law that states the quality of coffee goes up exponentially by the increase in number of hipsters preparing it. And, it is a great place to come with a laptop & get some work done. Much better than Starbucks.

Great little place for fresh homemade ice cream. Big plus: friendly customer service, love the family atmosphere, you can taste all the flavors prior to making a purchase, very affordable, plenty of parking, new flavors come-out all the time. Cons: I love soft ice cream. This place is a must try for all. Look out for open mic Wednesday.

Love the cafe latte! Seats are somewhat limited. Great coffee, but pastries are not so good. They were cold and hard, and they don't heat it up for you.

Though others have said that there is typically a long line. I visited Portola at around 6:00pm on a Friday with no line. The coffee was fairly average as compared to what one could produce on an aeropress but tasting a different variety of beams is always nice. Their different brew methods are explained and the bean currently used is displayed. A variety of pre-roasted beans, brewing equipment and Portola branded merchandise is also available.

My Americano was ok. I will never understand not offering sugar but offering simple syrup instead. Why would I want to add more water to my coffee? The ambiance and environment were ok there, by the drinks took an exceptionally long time to get and there were zero people waiting before me, so I'm not sure what was thing so long.

Amazing coffee. The plaza is usually packed when I come on the weekends, but it's a great place to grab some coffee and to get work done when you need to get outside of the house. I love the environment of this area, it's refreshing and nice to be away from coffee shops that are right next to campus. I don't know a whole lot about coffee, but I drink enough of it to know what quality coffee is. I usually stick to a cold brew, but if I'm craving something sweet I'll grab a vanilla latte. The cashier is always nice, and the baristas seem to really love what they're doing. Pros: - Quality coffee - Great work environment Cons: - Long lines, long wait - Only one restroom nearby (always seems to be occupied) Definitely recommend Portola!

What mad scientist came up with this place? Man it's awesome though, they make coffee in ways I've never even heard of. Last time I went I just said "surprise me" and I got one of the best coffees I've ever had.
