Our La Milagrosa Geisha is now on Kyoto for a limited time.

The tropical and stone fruit notes of this coffee is truly mouthwatering. It is floral, sweet, and possesses some really nice body to balance it all out. This is Portola Coffee Lab exclusive.
Kyoto $8 while it lasts!

You can also shop these exquisite beans at www.portolacoffeelab.com

"New logo, same great taste."
These are our new coffee bags. Have you seen our new look yet? Swing by our shop to see our changes, and definitely take a moment to browse our beautifully redesigned website at www.PortolaCoffeeLab.com

We want to say thank you to Sarah Armstrong and her incredible team at A Name Brand Co. for their strong artistic eye, hard work and dedication to making our new design come to life.

"Taking their namesake, Gaspar de Portola, we built their new brand around this spirit of adventure and exploration. Incorporating lots of textures, patterns, and colors, we were able to not only mature the look of Portola, but really set them up to share some incredible stories about their coffee discoveries and grow with all of their new locations opening soon.” Sarah Armstrong

I was just drinking the Kochere from the new packaging this morning. Lover-ly for both the coffee and bag of beans!

Portola Coffee Lab is named the 2015 Micro Roaster of the Year.

Coffee roasted to flavor, and brewed to order. Uncompromising quality and experience.

The Portola Coffee Lab is a coffee experience unlike anything else in Southern California.

Our goal is to roast and prepare coffee in a way that lets the coffee speak for itself. So that you can taste all of the nuances that our carefully sourced coffee beans have to offer. We never dark roast anything, but rather roast coffee to (in our opinions) its best flavor potential. And we give you a chance to experience these flavors in ways that cannot be found anywhere else.

"Fresh coffee tastes better." Jeff Duggan

I'm a barista at Starbucks and I just loved the people, the food, and especially the coffee. Such a rich, creamy, and pure taste to the coffee, I can tell they use very good water in their espresso. I want to find out more about their methods, it's so fascinating what they do there!

Excellent espresso, perhaps the best I have ever had....seriously. Try the 8 rocks espresso if you love espresso (or make this the first espresso shot you ever try). Excellent customer service as well. The plaza reminds me of something I would see in Seattle :)

'Spensive, but it's a damn good cup of coffee. I guess that's the common refrain for the OC Mix Mart in general--expensive, but pretty much worth it. I've been here a couple of times now and I've left a happy camper both times. I think I had some kind of a hot mocha the first time and the second time was an iced vanilla latte. Expertly made, and just what the doctor ordered. I know I can always rely on good quality coffee here, yum.

Great coffee, extremely fresh. inexperienced baristas that don't listen to what your looking for. My coffee was super fresh but too weak. I asked for a medium - strong and too weak for my palette. Would have been better off at Starbucks. Would have spent less at Starbucks and been happier. And the wait at this place.

My friend swears this place has the best coffee so I decided to give it a try. He recommended the mocha since I have a bit of a sweet tooth. I arrived early one Saturday morning and was surprised to see that there was a line already forming. However, it moved pretty fast. I ordered a mocha to drink at the coffee shop. They have wooden tables setup or you can sit at the bar. I also ordered a breakfast sandwich. It was about $12 total, which is kind of pricey for a coffee and sandwich but since my friend promised me it was worth it, I gave it a go. The coffee comes with a cool foamy design made from the froth, which I was impressed with. The mocha was delicious, rich and creamy. As for the sandwich, it was a bit too bland for me so I asked for some of their salsa, which added just the kick it needed. Overall, I wouldn't make this place my go-to coffee place because it's out of the way for me but if I am in the area, I wouldn't mind stopping for a bite and drink.

These barristers really care, and it shows. Amazing coffee. They took quite a while to make the coffees, however when it tastes so good, does it really matter?

Simply put coffee roasted to it's fullest potential. Wow! I thought while in here from Las Vegas and since it is National Coffee Day I should search out a new coffee lovers paradise. Boy did I find it at Portola Coffee. Simple no flash menu and drinks focused on the magical bean is what you while find here. Even the Vegan friends will be delighted about the milk alternatives. I ordered the classic hit americano $3.00 and was I impressed. The drink was actually offered to me in a nice ceramic mug to break away from the paper cup only GREEN MONSTER company. Then it was love at first sip. Creamy caramel smooth full body roast that could not have been done any better. I enjoyed the coffee in the beautiful tranquil court yard out back surrounded by flowers and other green landscape. Perfect ample seating to accompany the perfection in the cup.

great coffee although, the hipster level of the staff is comical. You would think that they were instructed to play the part of the over the top, I am so hip coffee maker. I have found that many of the staff are rather unfriendly.
