The last few weeks have made a lot of businesses rethink the importance of disaster planning and risk assessment.
It's a good thing. According to Nationwide Insurance, 75 percent of small businesses don't have a disaster plan. FEMA says that 40 percent of small businesses don't reopen after a disaster - like Harvey or Irma. And the US Small Business Association says that 90 percent of small businesses fail within two years of a disaster.
