Using a ESB to proxy incoming HTTP (and HTTPS) calls to an internal service, adding cross cutting concerns such as logging and authentication, is not uncommon. This blog will describe how to build such a proxy flow using Mule ESB 3.6.1 Community Edition.

Thanks for sharing.

I believe this could also have been solved using the "Message Enricher" EIP. Calling the second flow and saving that response in another part of the message

Have Mr Cerf ever heard about SS7 ?
Perhaps something to think about for Telcos that now move to VOIP and IMS networks.

"Cerf, who co-designed the TCP/IP protocol suite with Bob Kahn, said that he admired how SDN separates the data plane from the control plane, which allows the network to be controlled via software from an external server. One of the hazards of conjoining the two, he added, was the attack risk."
