This is a big HELL, NO from me. Lying about having fun while I'm out? Hell to the no! I refuse to take agency away from my partner for my own comfort--it's his job to make his own informed decisions and set his own boundaries.

In my experience, those who say they are lying to protect someone else are actually lying to protect themselves (not having to deal with a sick/envious partner). What say you?
