Side Post #4:
New Years tips and Tricks!

New Years has come and as a little tribute, I complied a list of a few fairly unknown Google+ tips and tricks, enjoy.

Tips and Tricks:

1. Double tapping the home tab brings you back to the top.

2. Searching "***** term" and replacing "term" with a search term will search posts in your home feed.

3. You can find a list of all the posts you've commented on by searching the following string and replacing Name with your G+ name and ID with your profile ID: "Name" -inurl:ID

4. You can download a searchable .zip file of all of your Google+ posts by going to https://takeout.google.com/settings/takeout and selecting only "Google+ streams", then create the archive. You will be emailed a download link.

5. Make your follower count (in)visible by going to http://plus.google.com/settings/plus and turning on/off "Show people who have added you to circles"

6. You can enable/disable certain types of notifications by going to https://plus.google.com/settings?gmbpt=true&fd=1 and looking under "Receive notifications"

7. You can make Google+ stop degrading the quality of your pictures by going to https://plus.google.com/settings?gmbpt=true&fd=1 and checking "Upload my photos at full size". Note: this will use your Google Drive space.

8. You can enable Circle Streams tabs on the G+ mobile app by going to settings and checking "Display circle streams for this device" at the very bottom.

9. You can have all your G+ notifications automatically emailed to you by going to https://plus.google.com/settings?gmbpt=true&fd=1 and enabling notification delivery. You can also choose a different email address to prevent them from cluttering your inbox.

10. Typing in http://Plus.google.com/me takes you to your Google+ profile.

11. Adding "?gmbpt=true&fd=1" to the end of a G+ link and opening it in a browser will force it to open in the old PC interface, or in desktop mode on mobile.

12. CircleCount.com can organize your posts, show real time followers maps/graphs, and show you highlights of your profile.

13. AllMyPlus.com can give you interesting statistics on your G+ account, and sorts your posts by date, amount of +1s, amount of comments, and more.

14. Go to settings, click your account (unless it's already chosen), and click activity log to see what posts you've commented on, +1d, and voted on.

15: Hide certain circle's posts from your stream by going to the circle, push menu, circle settings, and change "amount" to none.

Thanks for sharing. I'll give some of these a try myself

I know all of this lol 😂

+Saif I doubt you knew every single one of them.
Amy :D

How cool thanks for that

Is there a glitch that allows me to go through all of my posts looking for a certain keyword?

+Reverse Flash If you do tip #4, and open the file on a windows computer, you can search your posts using the bar at the top right.

I'll definitely be using #7.

+LongNameGuy Maybe, I didn't know it until recently though.

+derpy twerp gamer YT I highly doubt that, since as far as I know, #2 and #11 were discovered by me and I hadn't told anyone until just now.

Thanks now i can look at any of your posts ive commented on and report them.

Is there a way to bookmark posts without copying the link and pasting it in a note?

+derpy twerp gamer YT I highly doubt those two things have been discovered before. G+ has been around for years, but barely anybody looks for this kind of thing. Show me evidence that someone else found it first and maybe I'll believe you. Meanwhile I'm just going to assume you're butthurt that you got caught lying.

+ReimarPB You can create a private collection and reshare posts there. That's what I do and it works great.

Is there a way to post posts privately to an audience, without them receiving notifications for it?

+Poll Person well, I see some posts from ppl in my circles that say that they are privately shared and I can see the post but I don't get notified when they are posted, so I was wondering how they did that.

+Sefia Azure Hmm.. That's strange. Do you ever get notifications for privately shared posts?

+Poll Person for some rare ones, yes. But most of the time I see them in my feed. Do they just select a circle when they make the post? Bcuz I thought that if you select a circle and make a post, it notifies the ppl in the circle when the post is made

+Sefia Azure It does. The only thing I can think of is that you have those notifications turned off for some reason.

I copied it if you dont mind:
