I had a wonderful experience with Pohanka Chevrolet. I was very interested in one of the vehicles they had on the lot, but I live over an hour away and had no ride there. Stephen Rodriguez drove over an hour to Maryland to pick me up and bring me to the dealership. Talk about service! Stephen Rodriguez was very knowledgeable and helpful when answering all my questions. I would highly recommend that you use Pohanka and ask for him specifically if you are car shopping.

I purchased a car from this dealer and I left the dealership feeling good about my purchase, my experience and most importantly myself. I've never experienced this type of service before. I was determined to make a purchase and they made it so easy for me. The vehicle was even lower than the blue book value. I purchased from Steven Rodriguez and I will definitely return for another pain free buy.

We have purchased a used Cruze from this dealer, and the salesman was very professional and did his job well. We had good experiences with the car, so far, and with the service department, and we have recommended them to our friends.

I had a very simple request for the service department at Pohanka Chevrolet, for them to change my oil and filter on my 2007 Silverado extended cab with an oil and filter that I provided. Both the oil and filter were on the passenger seat. After arriving home and getting under the truck, I noticed that they didnt use the oil filter I provided, which means they obviously didnt use the oil I provided. I returned to the dealership immediately and asked the service technician to go and fetch the oil and filter from the mechanic who worked on my truck, which he did. The mechanic had obviously tried to steal my oil and filter, both of which were premium grade. Avoid this dealership if you need to bring your Chevrolet vehicle in for service. This was both the first and last time I will ever use Pohanka Chevrolet for service. It would be a gigantic coincidence if they were caught the first time they had attempted to scam a customer, and if they are willing to do it for oil and a filter, I can't imagine bringing my truck in for service for something substantial. If you do get your vehicle serviced here make sure that the services you paid for were actually performed, but take my advice and avoid them altogether.

Outstanding! My purchase: New 2015 Corvette Stingray w/Z51. Here's the inside scoop: If you are looking for a new vehicle and you are reluctant to purchase a vehicle because you don't want to get powned with commissions and fees and want to make sure you don't regret your decision afterward, and if you want an excellent deal that no other dealer will be willing to match even though they could by cutting out their own commissions, I highly recommend you start at Pohanka and you ask directly for Clark (probably the most knowledgeable salesman btw), Glen (general manager), and Teri (finance manager). I was able to get a brand new 2015 Corvette Stingray fully loaded for an outstanding price which I absolutely guarantee no other dealer would even contemplate matching. Clark and Glen are clearly in the market to make people happy more than they are concerned about putting money into their own pockets. Simply stated: If you live within 100 mile radius from DC and you are looking to get the best price for a Chevrolet vehicle, go here first and ask for these folks to get the best deal.

A month or so ago, the nob to turn the air between defrost, your feet and to blow in your face stopped working and was stuck on defrost. So I did a little research and found out that one of the HVAC actuators on my 2011 Chevy Traverse went bad. There is a great YouTube video and other websites that gives directions how to fix the issue yourself on the web. I had to take the Traverse in to get some recall work done so I thought I would see how much it would cost to get the actuator fixed. The salesperson/service person was very nice, don’t get me wrong. He wasn’t really specific on how much it would cost to fix the actuator at first. He said, “there are a few behind the dash that could have gone bad but he’d have to run a diagnostics in order to know for sure which one it was”. He said, “the diagnostics was over a $100. I said, “holy crap, really”. He initially said the actuators run about $100 for some and over $200 for others. He said, “well, I’ll do the diagnostics for $59 and we’ll go from there” basically half price. I said, “well, I know which one it is because I did online research and they said it was the one right behind the glove box which is relatively easy to get to. He said, “well, if that one is bad, the actuator behind the glove box, I’ll give the diagnostics to you for free”. I said okay to the diagnostics but to call me to approve any work to be accomplished. I left the car there for them to work on. They called me a few hours later and told me indeed the actuator behind the glove box was broke along with another one. He quoted me $80 odd dollars each for the actuators and roughly $500+ total to fix them both. I told them not to fix any of the actuators, I’ll try to fix them myself because online they said only one needed to be replaced. To say the least, I don’t trust any mechanics. Thinking, I wonder if they just fed me a line of crap about the second actuator to get me to pay for the diagnostics because of the deal we had made earlier. They had the vehicle for quite some time that day so again, I thought, I wonder if they’re sabotaging my Traverse and making the “second actuator” bad on purpose or replacing it with an actual bad one. They finally called me hours later stating the car was complete. I went in and luckily they didn’t charge me for the diagnostics, I was going to be pissed if they did. I went home later that day, bought the one actuator via Amazon for $33, a fraction of the price the Chevy dealer would have charged me for it. I then installed it myself, knowing that if it didn’t fix it and indeed I needed to replace a second actuator I still would save a ton of money. The installation took about 30 minutes, to be conservative. I tested it out and it worked perfectly. So, was the supposed second actuator really bad like they stated? I find it hard to believe it was because it worked fine after I fixed the one behind the glove box. Now, I’m thinking that if I had gone with their recommendation they would have “replaced” the second actuator and charged me for it when it didn’t really need to be fixed, therefore, they would have made up for the money for not charging me for the diagnostics test. I am very leery of any mechanic or dealership service department. This just proves that they are shady. Be very cautious! Do your research before diving into any mechanic doing a diagnostic or fixing anything on your vehicle. If you can fix it yourself, DO IT! You’ll save yourself a ton of money.

It was great. Pulled up, had my oil changed, tires rotated, and even had a recall looked at in a great amount of time. I was able to sit in the lounge while I waited, which allowed me to avoid rush-hour traffic.
