Kuwait will persevere because it is a nation of great pride. Kuwait is resilient. Join us as we uncover many hidden gems that celebrate Kuwait in ou...

"Released to coincide with the beginning of Ramadan, #RMDN is not just a reflection on the challenges and feelings of fasting alone, but is also a commentary on the way that society has allowed and enabled social media to become an almost necessary incursion in our lives. Along the way he brings together finger-picked acoustic guitars, quick-darting light synth flourishes, and understated percussion to create package that is lush and singularly soothing. These warm, inviting sonic structures offer a stellar framework for his sublimely gentle, yet self-assured vocal delivery and help to ramp up the emotional finesse of his songwriting." via Striker Bill

The music video for my single RMDN just premiered on Impose Magazine with a robust interview - the single is about my experience fasting alone over the years - have a read through and please consider participating in the #RMDN hashtag and I will love you forever.

In the interview, I postulate how the Mipsterz movement might be connected to Taqwacore and the odd reality that Khaleeji music has yet to find its place in the music world. I also reflect on what the last 10 days of Ramadan mean to me and point out the parallels between the Arabian Peninsula and Louisiana.

This is what happens when you invite a wedding photographer to your show - great results by Tahmid Ahmed & Farhat Rahman - from an event organized by the Muslim Writer's Collective in NYC

This is a great coffee shop with deliciously crafted espresso and superb service. It's a fairly new establishment with lots of culture. Only downside is that there isn't much to eat (they're muffins are tasty tho). Major bonuses include a discount for people who work in the area and their loyalty card for frequent visitors.

Top-notch Bywater spot, great wings, intimate areas tucked away in the back that make it a really warm place. Sonali did a great job overall setting this place up.

Top-notch service, friendly, anticipated my needs every step of the experience. They're mainly a pizza place, but I'd recommend their lamb sausage and salads over their pizza.

Good vintage music and friendly, mostly stylish crowd. This is where MidCity hipsters go basically. Good dance space as well.

Congrats on creating one of the worst food places in New Orleans - I guarantee that whatever you get will be worst than cafeteria or airplane food. A stark contrast to the museum itself.

Great bike shop for doing repairs: efficient, knowledgeable - friendly people but a slim selection of products to add to your bike
