Big Radio's lobbyists are secretly pushing the misnamed "Local Radio Freedom Act (LRFA)."  It has nothing to do with local radio.  But it would deny music creators fair pay from Big Radio.  Tell your elected Representatives to say NO to Big Radio \ Tweet #valuemusic

I wish more radio stations were this clear and descriptive about their internal processes on music submissions

I developed a performance installation for Bustin Out Productions' Heaven/Hell Halloween Party | The idea is to create an intimate & quiet space within a chaotic context using headphones; people in the room could hear my naked voice, but once they put on the headphone, they would hear my guitar playing and ethereal filters on my vocals | I invited folks to sit down, listen to a song, and then (as a thank you) I gave them a USB with my SoHo Spirit album for free.

One aspect that surprised me was that many people were eager to either play me a song or join in my singing to my guitar playing | Being new to New Orleans, it is critical that I absorb what local musicians and artists are already doing | Glad that my installation facilitated such interactions | The Marigny, New Orleans 2014

Special thanks to Melissa Tamporello, Bria Brown, Ben Samuels, Leslie Gamboni, and Philip Piediscalzo for their collaborative energy

"Being a cultural strategist, I focus on studying evolutions in culture in my day-to-day work. As a musician I draw on the ethos of alternative and folkd rock; I want to borrow from trends outside the entertainment industry to expand what is commercially viable for indie artists to do.” +Aziz is a Kuwaiti singer-songwriter. His debut EP is titled SoHo Spirit.

Full Performance of Sarrah at White Box Gallery in NYC - Accompanied by Oudist Hadi Eldebek

Lyrics

Preparing my Acoustic for Open Mic Action: I took it to Webb's Bywater Music and we installed a L.R Baggs pick-up and it is ready for action | I bought this pick-up 8 years ago so this has been long overdue!

My Guitars Went Under the Knife | Or whatever he used to fix up acoustic instruments | I learned so much from the dude that fixed them up (his name is Slim) | He runs a small workshop from his house in this hipster area in New Orleans (The Marigny) | He was just very generous with the analyses he provided me and taught me a lot about maintaining my instruments and what had been going on with them | The Martin had a huge crack down the center and the Guild is an older “vintage” 12-string guitar I recently bought from a Guitar Center | They sound great now

I love it when I find gems on Youtube like this, and they don't even reach the 10K views mark. It's like discovering an underground band that others don't know about.

Good vintage music and friendly, mostly stylish crowd. This is where MidCity hipsters go basically. Good dance space as well.

Great bike shop for doing repairs: efficient, knowledgeable - friendly people but a slim selection of products to add to your bike

SRC has a superb collection of antiques and a few contemporary pieces. The service especially exceeded my expectations; they are super-friendly, respectful, and digitally savvy. Also, they are very transparent about how they go about acquiring the items they sell. Ask them anything. Well worth a visit and you will find a lot of unique investments.

Alliance are brokers who work with the shadiest moving companies in America; their partners can guarantee nothing nor are they registered with the Better Business Bureau. Alliance is deceitful and deceptive; they will give you the lowest possible rate on the market and will forget about you. I found myself constantly ‘chasing’ answers and the reps just don't care about their customers after the initial sign up.

I was expecting a lot more out of a gym with such a superb location. I tried out their free 2-week trial and realized that it wasn't for me. The staff is not friendly, nor helpful. They spend most of the time behind a desk and don't really offer any knowledge, support, and barely can bring themselves to smile. This gym is mostly filled with "bros" and it is very machine-oriented. The machines are all working but they are not very well maintained (there's a lot of squeaking and some of the padding is damanged). I liked that everything is essentially in one space, the music they play is decent, but it's hard to feel a sense of belonging when the people are so dry. Also, they are closed on Sundays, which is a critical day for me to work out.

If you want a real moving company, check with the Better Business Bureau - I got extremely poor service through Entourage. They will keep you stranded, they will guarantee you nothing, their delivery estimates are always off the mark, their labor is poorly paid, and they work with the shadiest moving companies.

This store is new to NOLA. Great selections of 20 brands and an overall great menswear store. Unique selection of shirts, pants and a decent footwear collection. Mix that with its friendly staff, and you have a store that is well worth visiting on a regular basis.
