Plumline is a support center for anyone wishing to find, establish, build and maintain an online Sangha in the Plum Village tradition. If you aren't able to join a local practice group or start one up, we invite you to consider an online one.

We meet in a variety of languages and in several time zones. Some of our groups meet for silent meditation practice, others to study the dharma reviewing certain texts, audio or videos of dharma talks. Several groups recite the Mindfulness Trainings monthly. All groups meet live and practice in the Plum Village tradition. We can help find the right one for you. If we can’t find a group that suits your needs we’ll happily help you start a new one. It might be a lot easier than you think.

We encourage online practitioners to look for ways of having some in person practice experience such as attending retreats and visiting local groups when possible.

Sangha Building

We are happy to share with you that Plumline is now supporting 20 sanghas, and the number of active practitioners had increased to 230 at the last count.

There is also a steady growth in sanghas which use languages other than English - currently Italian, Spanish, Polish and Mandarin.

New members are always most welcome in all of our Sanghas...

As Thay reminds us:

"Building a Sangha is like planting a sunflower. We need to be aware of which conditions will support the flower’s growth and which conditions will obstruct its growth. We need healthy seeds, skilled gardeners, and plenty of sunshine and room to grow. When we engage in Sangha building, the most important thing to remember is that we are doing it together. The more we embrace the Sangha, the more we can let go of the feeling of a separate self. We can relax into the collective wisdom and insights of the Sangha. We can see clearly that the Sangha eyes and hands and heart are greater than that of any individual member of the Sangha."

"The next Buddha will be a Sangha."
Thich Nhat Hanh

May your ongoing practice be fruitful…
