Is your car running hot? you may need to have your cooling system serviced. The most important and effective way to ensure your cooling system stays in top shape is to make sure the system is clean. When is the last time you had your cooling system checked?
Over time, your vehicle’s radiator can be blocked by deposits which can result in clogged pipes and lines within the cooling system. If your radiator has a small leak it can turn in to a big problem on a hot or cold day.
Your antifreeze, is important to remember to change when needed we recommend every 2 years. The experts at Platinum Auto Repair can help you change your antifreeze when needed to prevent break downs in extreme hot or cold weather.
If you have a problem with your cooling system, beyond a simple flush or replacement, our team can diagnose the problem. We will perform a pressure test to determine if your radiator’s pressure is correct. If the pressure test determines that it is not correct, we will check your cooling system’s caps, hoses and connections to determine if any of these components need to be replaced or repaired. If we determine that they do need to be replaced or repaired, we can give you a quote on parts and labor.
From Cooling System Flushes, Water Pumps, Radiator Hoses and Radiator we can help you with your vehicle cooling system needs.

How do you know when you need tires?

Checking Tire Tread
One of the essential parts of tire maintenance is one of the easiest – checking your tire’s tread. Tread is what helps your tire throw water out of the way to ensure you are connected to the road and not skidding. You need to check your tread every 6,000 – 8,000 miles (so about every other oil change) to ensure that your tires are still working correctly.
Your tread should wear evenly around your tires. Look for bald spots, cups, and scallops in your tire that might indicate that something is wrong. There are some standard clues as to what might be causing your tires to wear unevenly.
Rub your hand across the top of your tread almost like petting a cat. Then run your hand the opposite way across the tire. If it feels different, then it might indicate that you need to have your wheels realigned.
If the edges of your tires are worn, this could indicate you have under-inflated tires. Check that they are inflated properly and check for a possible leak.
If the center of your tires is worn more than the edges, then you could have over-inflated tires. Simply letting out some of the air can fix this problem.
To check your tread, you can get a tread gauge from your local automotive store, or you can just get a penny from your wallet.
All you have to do is place the penny; head first, into the tread of your tires. If Abraham Lincoln’s head isn't partially covered, then you need new tires.
