Imagine the future of asteroid mining. Not just about resource extraction, but about building.

A decent sized asteroid, mined and refined locally. Hollowed out, and smoothed into a nice cylinder shape. Spun up to create confortable G forces on the inside of the hollowed out space.

A space station in LEO or LMO? An independent colony, capturing and refining asteroids for self suffuciency? Or even the starting point for a generation ship that will travel to another star system and start a new branch of humanity.

It is an inspiring future.
