Let's agree as a species that we will never get to a point again where no living human has walked on the moon.

NASA doubles down with TWO #asteroid exploration missions! #LucyMission #PsycheMission @NASA http://go.nasa.gov/2hSsmOn
NASA has selected two missions that have the potential to open new windows on one of the earliest eras in the history of our solar system – a time less than 10 million years after the birth of our sun. The missions, known as Lucy and Psyche, were chosen from five finalists and will proceed to mission formulation.

“Planetary Resources is excited that NASA has selected the Lucy and Psyche missions for the Discovery program. While the particular asteroids targeted for study under these missions are not near-term resource targets, understanding the science behind their history and evolution will contribute to the body of knowledge about these important members in the solar system family and the valuable materials they contain.

“With some half-dozen active space missions now in service, on their way, or under development to study asteroids, we’re pleased to be developing our own mission to harness water and metals from asteroids and open up the space economy enabling the permanent presence of humans beyond Earth.” - Chris Lewicki, President and CEO, Planetary Resources Inc.
