The Penguins fell to the Avalanche, 2-1, tonight at home. In spite of Pittsburgh launching 40 shots on goal, only a Phil Kessel shot in the waning seconds of the game could sneak past Colorado netminder Jonathan Bernier. Tristan Jarry allowed 1 goal on 28 shots (the other Avalanche tally was an empty net goal).

After a dismal season last year, the resurgent Avalanche (13-13-2) visit Pittsburgh tonight at 7:00PM ET as the Penguins (16-12-3) look to put together a more complete game than they did against the Toronto Maple Leafs just two days ago. As the holidays get closer and closer, the Penguins would certainly like to kick things off tonight with a present.

After a rocky start, the Penguins' comeback fell just short. Pittsburgh fell 4-3 to Toronto tonight in front of a home crowd. Riley Sheahan scored again, bringing his goal-scoring streak to two games. The Penguins face the Avalanche in the final game of this home stand on Monday night.

The force was strong with the Penguins in this game, as they defeated the Islanders 4-3 in OT. Riley Sheahan scored a goal on his birthday, and Matt Hunwick's first career overtime goal sealed the deal for Pittsburgh. The Penguins' keep on fighting at home as the Maple Leafs come to town on Saturday night. Below is the special pre-game video that the Penguins played in honor of Star Wars night.

It's Star Wars night at PPG Paints Arena! Anthony Daniels, better known at C-3PO, will be in attendance for his first hockey game ever!

The Penguins will be facing off against the Islanders in another divisional matchup. The Isles come to town generating a lot of offense off the rush, but the Penguins look to stem the tide and send the Islanders to continue their road trip with a loss.

Despite the Penguins outshooting the Rangers 44-29, Pittsburgh fell just short in this contest, 4-3. Patric Hornqvist notched 1G-1A--2 Pts., giving him a six-game scoring streak. Jake Guentzel's point streak continued as well with an assist tonight, giving him points in four consecutive contests. The Penguins continue their home stand on Thursday night at 7:00PM ET against the New York Islanders.

PENG-WIN! Back-to-back games against the Sabres, back-to-back four-goal victories for the Penguins. Tonight, the Penguins bested the Sabres, 5-1. Tristan Jarry returned to the net after earning his first career shutout last night, and stopped 32 of 33 shots.
