Why do Cyprus and UK Easters usually vary?
With the timing of UK Easter dictated by the Gregorian calendar, Greek Orthodox Easter is based on the older Julian calendar. Although every 4 years (such as this one) they are on the same dates, the two celebrations can be at quite different times. Last year, for example, UK Easter was 27 March, yet Cyprus Easter was as late as 1 May.
