We are listing some of the viable web servers in a cPanel controlled web hosting server  other than default one Apache httpd.

1. Lightspeed - This is a commercial and closed source alternative to apache and claims of high performance and tight integration to apache config syntax and and supports .htaccess rules  .  If you want to offer performance with out compromising on end user useability concerns this is the only option available. Dynamic language support is provided by lsapi which is mostly similar to the opensource FastCGI protocol . Apache must be entirely replaced by Lightspeed

2. OpenLightSpeed is the opensource avatar of the commercial LightSpeed server listed above . This is not well known for its stability and integrating it with cPanel is not straightforward as LightSpeed .

3.  nDeploy : helps using nginX as the web server replacement . Since nginx does not load apache htaccess rules and does not support apache configuration ;it is not easy to replace apache fully unless you port rewrite configuration etc to nginx ones . To make things easier for end user ;nDeploy offers a proxy to apache as default setup and selection of standalone nginx on a per account basis .nDeploy employs nginX's FastCGI and PhusionPassenger support to deal with dynamic language like PHP ,Ruby,Python etc

Retiring cpXstack  -

cpXstack has reached its End Of Life( EOL) and we have taken the decision to not offer the script anymore to public . Existing users have already paid for installation or support has  the option to avail our free upgrade path to http://ndeploy.in  as nDeploy offers all the features of cpXstack with a lot of additional features that we are sure will be welcomed by the webhosting community in general . All links in our product page has been updated and we hope users find it an easy transition . If you have any queries ;the helpful team of SysAdmins at SysAlly are always at your service

We had planned on supporting PHP,RUBY,PYTHON and NODE initially in nDeploy; but as the project progressed we saw that incorporating COLDFUSION support would be worth the effort as it is a very widely used server-side scripting language . We evaluated Railo CFML engine with the standard Tomcat bundle.

Soon we were convinced that tomcat will not fit into a shared hosting environment as adding new host entries needed a full restart of the server . nDeploy still includes the code to configure a tomcat-railo backend if someone wants to try it out . But the preferred method now to provide coldfusion hosting is Railo deployed on Caucho Resin .  The dynamic vhost addition with the host.xml is the highlight here .   #nDeploy   #Caucho_Resin  #tomcat #Coldfusion
