An update. I am on the mend, but had a collapsed lung.

Still working on the OS so it isn't dead. Just haven't got as much free time as I used to have.

Also to be honest, I am finding 16.04 a bit on the buggy side. I am still using 14.04 as my daily driver.

I will go for a big push in the next 2 days and get a build out within two weeks.

All that is needed to make the build is online if anyone wants to have a mess around: http://forum.pinguyos.com/Thread-PinguyOS-METAPACKAGE?pid=34132#pid34132

If you are running 14.04, run this to update the kernel so you are running the latest security patches:

sudo apt-get install linux-generic-lts-xenial linux-image-generic-lts-xenial

May drop Thunderbird in 16.04

Who still uses an email client?

At the moment I am really happy with using:

Mailnag; http://www.webupd8.org/2016/03/mailnag-email-notifier-12-released-with.html

GNOME Gmail: https://github.com/davesteele/gnome-gmail

Gmail Mail Sidebar: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/gmail-mail-sidebar/?src=cb-dl-recentlyadded

Thinking about removing Thunderbird from the next Pinguy OS release.

PinguyOS Linux
Introduction

Pinguy OS an out-of-the-box working operating system for everyone, not just geeks

This OS is for people that have never used Linux before or for people that just want an out-of-the-box working OS without doing all the tweaks and enhancements that everyone seems to do when installing a fresh copy of Ubuntu or other Linux based Distro's.
