Introduction
From The Netherlands, been living in Beijing since 1998 with a brief 2 year intermezzo in Valencia, Spain (2008-2010).

My core business is developing websites (I love WordPress), but I also have interests in tourism and other opportunities.

My interests outside of work are the internet, spending time with my wife, hiking the "wild" Great Wall, cooking, reading, movies, our dog Laila and sailing.

Typical Circles where you can place me in are (in no particular order):
  • WordPress / WordPress hackery
  • Social Media / Internet
  • Beijing / Great Wall / China
  • Dutch people
  • iMac / Android
If you add me to one of your Circles and would like me to reciprocate, then I would like to know what would be the best type of Circle to place you in. You can let me know by message, or better even, show it in your profile.

If your profile is empty and you haven't posted an awful lot/anything, there is a big chance that you will stay in my Incoming Circle. I review that Circle every now and then to see if people have become interesting :)

As I have been on Google+ since the beginning I also have a newbie Circle, to which I every now and then send Google+ Tips.

Please let me know if you have any questions regarding my Circles setup or anything else for that matter.

great idea, will be implementing that on my next project if I get the chance!
Managing z-index across large sites can be a pain in the butt. CSS is hard to test, so it's notoriously easy to make a change that ends up, for instance, h

Laila got shaven today and is now ready for summer! When she left it rained a bit and when she came back the sun was shining, a very good sign methinks

We probably came at a bad time as presumably the owner was all alone. She kept running past our table saying she would be with us soon, while serving other patrons. In the end I grabbed a menu from another table and ordered directly at the bar where she happened to be. Apologies all over and although there is nothing wrong g with food or drinks, the impression she made is lasting: will not be back (not only because it's our last day on Bali)

Fantastic little place. Been here three times already and strange but true, after the first time, you will notice that your body has a craving to go back! Making a reservation is highly recommended although I have noticed that the place is definitely more popular for dining than during lunch hours. It is not a cheap place, count on RMB 100-150 per person for all the yummie-ness (is that even a word?)

We ordered 4 bottles of wine, none of which was the year it said on the menu! Bottle 1: 2yrs difference Bottle 2: 4yrs difference Bottle 3: 3yrs difference Bottle 4: 1yr difference Upon which we decided to bring our money elsewhere. My friend said the food was great though, so if you don't care about the vintage of your wines, it might still be nice. They won't see me stepping foot in there anymore however!

it was a very nice summer evening, so we had dinner on the rooftop terrace. We started our meal with the antipasti platter, very nice, although some bread to come with it would have been nice. The 300-day grain fed steak was out, so we opted for the beef filet steak which was very nice and we had the charcoal grilled cod fish and shrimps. Desert was the crème brûlée and the chocolate soup with pistache ice-cream. If you're a chocolate lover like me, then that soup is a must! The meal was accompanied by a nice bottle of Italian wine chosen from the wine list which had plenty of choices available. Great place and great value for money!
