Today we feature an incredible image of sunrise over Muckish by Owen Clarke. Located in County Donegal, Muckish mountain stands at 666 metres and is the second highest in the Seven Sisters mountain range. Owen has captured the mountain shrouded in mist from Tory Island which is located 9 miles off the shore. The sky is ablaze in red and orange tones making for an intensely dramatic scene.

Today we feature an image taken in Doolough, Co. Mayo by Joe Craig.

Tragically 600 people died of starvation at Doolough during the Great Famine. They had travelled 15 miles to Delphi Lodge during freezing conditions in search of food. Sadly they were turned away and most died of weakness and starvation on the return journey.

Today we feature an atmospheric black and white image taken in Ravensdale Forest, Co. Louth by Conor McEneaney. Situated North of Dundalk, the forest is located at the base of the Cooley Mountains. Sunlight streaming through the trees illuminates a picnic bench adding mystery to the scene. There is a great dynamic range between the shadows and highlights in this image.

Today we feature The Custom House in Dublin City by Emma McArdle. Construction began on this building in 1781 and took ten years to complete. It replaced a previously built Custom House that had been deemed unfit for purpose. In 1921 it was almost completely destroyed when the IRA burnt it down during the Irish War of Independence. It was later restored and is pictured here with the Dublin Convention Centre in the background.
