Today we feature "Into the Woods" by Darren McLoughlin. Captured in Co. Mayo, a long straight path dusted in leaves disappears into the distance. The green luminance to the trees contrasts starkly against the trail in this mysterious scene.

Today we feature a stunning shot taken at Loughcrew, Co. Meath by Robery & Cathy Ardill. Robert comments:

"A view at sunset from the top of the large Neolithic burial chamber on top of Carnbane East at Loughcrew. At the foot of the large tumulus is a smaller one surrounded by a stone circle, as can be seen in this photograph.

The Loughcrew cairns are located 40 kilometres from Newgrange, situated on three hill summits near the town of Oldcastle.

The hills, Carnbane West, Carnbane East and Patrickstown, are known collectively as Sliabh na Caillighe, or the Mountain of the Witch . The burial chambers are probably older than Newgrange, dating to between 3500 and 3300 BC."

Today we feature a simple but atmospheric image of Mount Errigal by Gareth McCormack. Located in Donegal, Errigal is the highest peak in the County and the tallest within the mountain range known by locals as the "Seven Sisters". Gareth captured this shot as the sun sets a stunning amber yellow. He explains the location:

"There are so many different angles from which to appreciate the iconic form of Errigal Mountain. This one is from high on Farscallop Mountain, in Glenveagh National Park. On this spring evening I used a telephoto lens to focus though a gap in the Derryveagh Mountains. The backlighting provided by the setting sun reduced the mountain to a simple geometric silhouette, allowing me to draw attention to its curious, fish-tail summit."
