Have you checked out our Antique Piano Guide? Our Guide is designed to give information about specific American piano manufacturers and more, during the last 183 years or so. Antique Pianos, Grand Pianos, Upright Pianos, Square Grands Pianos, complex machines with thousands of moving parts, are also works of art. Pianos are known for their durability, but over time gradual wear and deterioration take a toll on the condition of all pianos, whether regularly serviced or not.

Music heals the mind, body and soul. In our current world, the need for music may never have been so important. Scientific study after study has shown that the power of music stretches far past just generating the impulse to dance. Soothing classical music has been proven to reduce blood pressure, alleviate anxiety, decrease depression, take away general tension, and correct mood disorders – as opposed to treating these issues with prescription pills, which in turn create a litany of other problems. https://www.pianoemporium.com/give-your-child-the-gift-of-music/

Out of all musical instruments, the piano is unique in that it also serves as a furniture piece for the room in which it sits. It is more than just a fine musical instrument. The piano is such a prominent feature amongst western culture specifically, that the term “piano finish” has been universally adopted to describe the highest quality in wood finishes. Being attentive to the finish of your piano can not only help maintain the value of the instrument if you ever decide to sell it, but it also adds to the overall décor of the house. Here are a couple things to keep in mind to keep your piano’s finish looking its best.

Research has shown that music-learning increases brain activity, IQ, problem-solving and also supports language development. Other studies show that learning music helps with memory development and even improves test scores, especially in math and languages.

On top of all of these benefits, the ability to play music is a skill that fosters confidence, discipline, and maybe best of all – the enjoyment of music in general.
