"Teide, Above the Clouds II."
Nikon D750, 24-70 mm f/2.8 @34 mm, ¹⁄₆₄₀ sec at f/10, ISO 100
Another unique view from the Canaries - this day the whole island was covered by clouds, no point staying on the beach... But if you have faith, you believe that above the clouds the sun is always shining. Indeed.

"Intimacy"
Nikon D750, 70-200 mm f/4 @180 mm, ¹⁄₅₀₀ sec at f/4.0, ISO 2500
During the long weekend, we have visited Alsace, France. To our surprise, a monkey park was close to uour hotel, where more than 200 Barbary Macaques were roaming free in 60 acres of land. This shot was one of my favourites, monkey parents taking care of their offspring, with the same love we ourselves would do...

"Syracuse Sunset" - A recent memory from our trip in Sicily - we were looking for a decent restaurant in Syracuse, when the sky started to develop some really nice colour... The only place which provided a half-decent foreground for a picture was the harbour, so I (and my poor family) started to run for it smile emoticon The next 15 minutes I was busy trying to capture the scene, and my family were patient enough to give me the time I needed... We all then were up for a really nice dinner nearby...

Teide, Above the Clouds

The beauty of Tenerife Island, on the Canaries... In the background, the Teide volcano is peeking through, with its nearly 3800m tall peak it is the highest point of Spain and at the Atlantic.

"Ear of Dionysius"
Nikon D750, 24-70 mm f/2.8 @24 mm, ¹⁄₈₀ sec at f/2.8, ISO 1000
Ancient prison with story... The Ear of Dionysius is a limestone cave carved out of the Temenites hill in the city of Syracuse, on the island of Sicily in Italy. Its name comes from its similarity in shape to the human ear.

Introduction
PhotonPhotography by Viktor Lakics

photon
/ˈfəʊtɒn/, noun: photon;

A particle representing a quantum of light or other electromagnetic radiation.

Viktor Lakics is a Hungarian-British photographer chasing the light wherever he can.

Mesmerized by everyday illusions, the light, the shadows and reflections, I love how new dimensions are constantly being created and disappearing in front of my eyes. I believe if I am lucky and keep my eyes open, I can get a glimpse of these miracles and I will also be able to capture them..." ( Quote from a close friend, a photographer who I never knew personally - he recently passed away at the age of 40. His name is Zsolt Takacs)

A little more about me (hey, this is my page after all:-):

Viktor is a not (yet;-) a professional photographer, he has a family, a day job, and lots of interests. In real life (who says what side of you is real?!) he is a neuroscientist, molecular biologist working to find medications to fight Alzheimer's and Parkinson's disease.

When he is not thinking of his job, he focuses on his family & photography... Sometimes both...

Photography to me is a way to get away from it all...To find a space where I can express how I feel about the world, what I see in my own unique way. But I am not making images for myself. I need to share them with YOU. I want you to hear, see, feel what I have to say. My hope is that YOU will resonate, and make these moments captured on my photos yours. That makes me happy.

My images are mainly landscapes and cityscapes, with the occasional portraits, macros and street photography.  But make no mistake about it, even the landscapes talk about people...Every frame has at least two persons in it: the Photographer and the Viewer. The landscape is just a bridge to connect them... I find it so far easier to make this connection through an indirect way i.e. landscapes. Maybe I will be more direct in the future and will move into portraits as well; the possibilities are endless.

Thanks for reading, hope to see you frequently on my page!
