The billing is very UNFAIR! They do not disclose charges when you ask for the information. They have combined services with many physician groups outside of the hospital itself. They claim these are outpatient facilities. They charge you service fees of $3,500. per hour to esentially sit in the building. They told me they "verified coverage" with my insurance for testing that was indicated and proceeded to schedule my family member for $3000.00 worth of charges. They do not supply you with Prescriptions to look for outside clinics to obtain testing. They have very UNFAIR business and consumer practices. I would advise to ask for all charges up front and in writing before you step in the door.

PCH care was great. My 8 month old was having issues with her sinus. But as most others have said... it's the billing department that is terrible! I had a bill that I received from them for $301. It was at the beginning of the year and I knew I hadn't met my deductible yet, so I paid it. 2 months later I receive a bill again for $301. I called and they said that it did clear, it just must have gone out before my payment has processed (it took them two months to process the payment?) another month and a half goes by and I get a call from collections stating that I haven't paid the bill and they had to collect payment while we were on the phone. I told them I wasn't going to pay it because I had already. I finally had to hang up on them because they weren't excepting what I was telling them. I called PCH AGAIN and they said it must have been an error because they don't show that I owe anything... WTH?! Today, I get a bill for $18. Urg.

If you have insurance, RUN as fast as you can from PCH. The amount they charge can in no way be justified other than to cover the costs of others that can't/don't pay. My daughter had a schedule appointment to see a neurologist. The doctor was nice and did answer all our questions. The visit, with some standard run from here to there, touch your nose, etc. exam tests took about fifteen minutes. There were no x-rays, scans, blood tests, or anything of the like. No medications given either. For this fifteen minutes of consultation time they charge $548. To put that in terms that better relate to working people, that means PCH bills out neurology consultation time at over $2,000 an hour. For someone making $25 an hour (over three times the minimum wage rate) that's over two weeks of work. To put it in other terms, if the doctor racked up $750,000 (Well above the average cost.) in student loans to get that pediatric neurology degree and they only saw 10 patients a day (two and a half hours of time), they could have it paid off in approximately seven months. PCH, just helping fuel the sentiment that health care is only for the rich.

Getting the departments to actually answer or return phone calls is near impossible! The doctors were nice but it really doesn't help when you can't get an appointment or reach anyone when your child is sick! I hope that this hospital make some serious changes. I have been to a few other children's hospitals in a few different states and can honestly say that this one is by far the worst!

Had a great experience, we started off in the ER and had great staff, and nurse. We were admitted quickly and moved to our room. Great nursing staff and volunteer group that help run the core of the hospital. The surgeons were friendly and explained their process Would recommend, especially for young children. Cafeteria has a great selection of food to choose from

My daughter's first open heart surgery was here and the cardiac surgeon did a beautiful job. We are truly blessed to have had an awesome surgeon. The team already knew right away what they had to do and when and their confidence was reassuring. Everyone was great at keeping us well informed, getting what we needed and educating us about how to care for her at home. I definitely recommend this hospital. They were perfect and we miss them :)

My two month old grandson I call Mr Manners, baby Carmine was medical flown to Phoenix Children's Hospital after spending a week in las Vegas getting worse by the hours! OUR FAMILY WOULD LOVE TO SAY THANK YOU AND EXPRESS OUR APPRECIATION TO ALL THE STAFF OF PHOENIX CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL, ESPECIALLY THE SIX FLOOR!!! My Mr Manners and his mama (my daughter) arrived at Phoenix Children's Hospital in the early am, he was in very very critical condition. So swollen you couldn't recognize him, sedated from the day before when they did a biopsy of his liver he slept like an angel. He remained sedated for near two weeks. Only hours after arriving at Phoenix Children's Hospital we had answers. FINALLY SOME ANSWERS, after four hours of arriving they were able to diagnose my critically ill grandson. Neuroblastoma Stage 4s. My two month old grandson has cancer! They started chemo treatment that night. A three day round of chemotherapy began his journey back to wellness. The beautiful loving caring devoted nurse's were God sent. They always tended to him with love and compassion, We thank you and will be eternally grateful to Phoenix Children's Hospital, We love you Doctors, nurse's and volunteers, all of the Phoenix Children's Hospital family. My grandson is now on the seventh floor, and possibly coming home soon. All though he'll continue treatments with our newest addition to the family, the doctors and nurses at Phoenix Children's Hospital. Thank you
