SECURITY TIP: Change your webcam's default username and password when you set it up, to avoid giving hackers easy access. If you haven’t done it already, change them now. Your webcam’s user manual or an online search will give you instructions if you’re not sure how, or Peter can help - phone him on 0422 88 00 89 to make an appointment.

Regular back-ups are ESSENTIAL to keep your photos, documents and other important files safe. If you’re putting it off because you're too busy or don't know how, phone Peter on 0422 88 00 89. He can advise and install a back-up solution to suit your needs and protect your precious data from viruses, failed hard drives, corruption and other dangers.

Ever hit “send” on an email, then regretted it?
Gmail now lets you take back emails you wish you hadn’t sent. Enable “Undo Send” in Gmail through the gear icon in the top right corner > Settings > Undo Send > Enable > select “Send cancellation period” - the amount of time to retract emails (up to 30 seconds) > Save Changes (bottom of the page).
Now, when you send a Gmail message, you’ll get a notification “Your message has been sent” with an “Undo” button next to it. Click the Undo button to retract the email. Be aware, however, that if your system happens to freeze at the wrong moment or if you’re having problems with your internet connection, it may not retract the email within the cancellation period.

EMAIL TIP: Fill in the “To:” field LAST, after you’ve checked your typing and just before you’re ready to hit send.

We can help with file recovery and data retrieval. Even if you suddenly realise you need that file that you accidently trashed, call us immediately - we may still be able to retrieve it for you. Avoid saving anything else in the meantime, to reduce the chance of it being overwritten.
When you send a file to your computer's Recycling Bin, then empty the bin, it isn't necessarily gone. You've just told your computer to forget how to retrieve it. It will live on in your hard drive until new data is written over it.
