Cardio Phlebotomy Graduates
Our Cardio-Phlebotomy Program takes the phlebotomist to the next level of career advancement and patient care skills. Cardio-Phlebotomy trains the students in phlebotomy, intravenous insertion and P.I.C.C. line access as well as training students to read and interpret electrocardiogram tracings. Cardio Phlebotomy comes with 3 certifications, Cardio Phlebotomy, I.V. Technician, and Telemetry Technician
Student’s in the Cardio-Phlebotomy Program understand that their training is more advanced than phlebotomy and that there are more job opportunities.
Teachers at Phlebotomy Career Training have earned the respect of their students and peers.
Students books are written by the instructors who have over 20 years of experience in the field. Our mission at Phlebotomy Career Training is to training our student’s to be safe, competent and professional healthcare providers. Over the past years our reputation has grown to that of a school where hospitals and labs call regularly to hire our students. In addition, hospitals such as St. Josephs, St. Johns, St. Mary’s, Lakeland Hospital, Genesys Hospital, Oakwood Hospital and many more including physicians offices and clinics. Such esteemed companies have been accepting our students for their 100 draw externships and hiring many as well. We are distinctly grateful to our teachers and administrators for developing a unique and challenging curriculum that prepares students to enter into the healthcare field with confidence and professionalism.
We can now say, that we have achieved the level of educational recognition that has helped our students obtain the positions that they have worked for so diligently. Our class sizes are small to facilitate the learning process and give students individual attention. Student’s are given 30 hours of direct supervision in drawing blood. Each of the students are supervised by their own personal instructor for each of their 30 blood draws. This ensures that they are safe prior to entering into their externship at a local hospital. Our students perform their skill in phlebotomy, telemetry, I.V. insertion with close attention to detail and infection control procedures. Hospitals and clinics across the state of Michigan recognize the quality of education and experience our students receive. This is one of the reasons that our students are able to secure jobs directly after graduation.
Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician graduates are able to work in the following job classifications; Emergency Room Technician, Patient Care Technician, Dialysis Technician, Phlebotomist, Telemetry Technician, Cardiac Monitor Technician, Para-Medical Examiner and much more.
We at Phlebotomy Career Training understand the need to prepare students to become proficient in the art of drawing blood.  We go beyond the basics, and that’s what makes our students in high demand.  Employers can feel confident that they hired the best.
Altogether, students can plan to spend 6.5 hours per week for 9 weeks  in classroom/lab, 30 hours for blood draws,  + 40 hours at the hospital for clinical externship for their 100 blood draws (the 100 draw externship is a complimentary service of the school.  Student are evaluated for their eligibility to attend the extersnhip)
Once our student’s have finished their schooling, they are eligible to take the following national certifying exams; ASPT (American Society of Phlebotomy Technicains or the  ASCP (American Society of Clinical Pathology), AMCA ( American Medical Certification Association) Exams for Phlebotomy Technician.
Our office administrators will help students with the verification letters for their testing site application process.
Student’s of Cardio-Phlebotomy are also eligible to take the National Telemetry Exam.  This exam certifies students in the skill of cardiac arrhythmia interpretation.  Student’s need only check online to see the many job offers in the field of Telemetry, also know as Cardiac Monitor Technician.

What is a Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician and What do they do?
Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician
The Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician program at Phlebotomy Career Training combines the skills of a phlebotomy, IV and EKG technician. You will develop the ability to draw blood, operate EKG heart monitors, and interpret EKG test results. The phlebotomy courses you take teach you how to carry out venipuncture procedures, control infections, and collect blood and other specimens.
The EKG courses introduce you to heart anatomy and physiology, including diseases. You also learn how to use EKG equipment and interpret the reports and readings that they produce. In addition, you will learn how to perform CPR on infants, children, and adults. You will graduate ready to take on EKG and phlebotomy-related positions in hospitals, private practices, clinics, extended care facilities, and more.
One of the most sought after phlebotomist technician careers these days is the Cardio-Phlebotomy Technician. In fact, the training school in the Garden city of Michigan is now offering courses for this field. The program consists of six weeks of intensive study including subjects like anatomy and physiology. Students are also taught about heart rhythm interpretation, advance phlebotomy procedures, applying twelve lead electrocardiograms, knowledge of tubes, intravenous insertions, P.I.C.C.  line flushing techniques. They will also undergo training on cardiopulmonary resuscitation through the American Heart Association.
Students will be given specific instructions on how to perform venipunctures. Each one of them is allowed to have at least twenty five successful draws under the supervision of a Registered Nurse or Certified Phlebotomy Technician. The schedule of sessions is different for beginners and advanced students. When the students are done with their twenty five draws and fifteen capillary draws, they will be given a chance to complete a forty hour externship with the local laboratory in town. While they are doing their externship, they will have the opportunity to work hand in hand with a licensed and experienced phlebotomy technician.
This experience is really helpful as they will be taught how to perform DNA testing firsthand at their clinical externship.  They will also undergo intensive training on how to perform venipunctures to infants, children, adults and the elderly. They will learn how to enter a patient’s information in computers. After which, they will be taught on how they can process lab requests and results. And because of this hands-on experience, phlebotomist technician careers have a very high rate when it comes to students seeking the field of phlebotomy.
The fresh graduates of this branch of phlebotomy are lucky to have many different job opportunities on their plate. They have the option to work as a phlebotomy technician in the local hospital or laboratory. They can also work for a cardiologist since they have undergone intensive trainings that will be helpful in this field. They can perform electrocardiograms, assist with heart catheterizations and interpret rhythm strips. The graduates of the Cardio-Phlebotomy Program can also get a job in dialysis centers and outpatient phlebotomy laboratories and a rewarding phlebotomy technician jobs. There is indeed a very wide selection of employment for the people who have undergone this program
One of the perks that the students are blessed with is their instructors. These people have been in the field of phlebotomy for over twenty years and more. Their experience in the field and teaching profession is guaranteed to be of high quality and unquestionable. The students will undergo both hands on demonstration and lecture. The classroom atmosphere is guaranteed to be dynamic and challenging to encourage the students to strive hard and learn efficiently. The instructors are usually Registered Nurses, Certified Phlebotomy Technicians and PhD’s. These people will help the students achieve success in their academic and professional endeavors.

We are pleased to announce that many of our students are begin hired at local hospitals and clinics.
