Ok Philly, no snow means put your "spot savers" away. Now you can brew a beer on that table!

Do those once super hoppy beers seem not as hoppy as they used to? Here's an interesting theory as to why http://ow.ly/Y7SP1
Do beer drinkers build up a resistance to hops? Because of the lupulin threshold shift, it seems as though we've built up a tolerance to bitterness.

Best beer store hands down. They are the reason I got into home brewing. Super knowledgeable and helpful staff. Since I moved to North Carolina, I miss this place a lot. I have yet to find a shop that comes close to these guys.

Hey! Thanks man! NC is a good beer state too! Hopefully you're near Asheville. Cheers!

You'll head into the store for some home brewing supplies and leave the store as part of the Philly homebrewing community.

Best in the area. I just moved here from Colorado and needed to find a new placed for my brewing supplies; this place was the first I went to and after trying a few others, this is the best. Helpful, friendly staff for newbies and veterans with more supplies and advice than should fit in there.

This is a great shop, with a large selection grain, hops, yeast, and gear. Jimmy, Nick, and Tom are knowledgeable and helpful. They've helped me fine tune recipes and fix mistakes on multiple occasions. The store also carries a wide variety of DIY food making kits for sausages and cheeses. I cannot recommend this store strongly enough.

So before you get all crazy for my perfect score I have some reasons. First of all I live a few blocks from here and Im here almost daily so Ive seen a lot of what happens at the shop. The first day I walked in I was welcomed and offered a beer straight away. Immediately I had respect for these guys because they were giving away free beer. What is better than a place that provides people with ingredients to make beer and offer free home brewed beer. I was sold and already had respect. I then talked to who I believe was Nick at the time about what to brew. He said since I had brewed a few batches before to go with an intermediate kit to brew. I brewed that with a success. Since then they have helped me create some of the best beers that I have tasted. Nick, Jimmy, and Joey all have contributed to my beer brewing skills and I have become a better brewer because of it. Now Im brewing all grain and they are still walking me through steps to brew better beer. These guys know a lot and if they dont know it they will research it to let you know the right answer. There are many haters for the store but they dont understand that these guys are about brewing beer and good beer. Not some crazy different beer that no one has ever brewed before but just good beer. I can honestly call these guys my friends and to go a day or week without going into the shop I feel that something is wrong in my life. Come my Philly home brew and start brewing some good beer. Its worth the wait. Bring some beers you've brewed so they can tell you how you can improve or just keep making great beer.

Huge variety of equipment and ingredients, convenient, free parking. Nick and Jimmy have done a ton for the business since taking over. Definitely recommend.
