Claudia’s father had returned home and Kyle and Ross had gone back to school. Claudia had begun the arduous process of packing her life into boxes in preparation for her move out to the holiday house with the children. The weeks ahead became a series of secret, stolen moments for Claudia and Alex while their normal lives played out in the background. And those stolen moments were fraught with tension, the fear that they might be discovered and t...

Did you know that today is World Book Day?23 April is a symbolic date for world literature for on this date in 1616, Cervantes, Shakespeare and Inca Garcilaso de la Vega all died. It is also the date of birth or death of other prominent authors such as Maurice Druon, Haldor K Laxness, Vladimir Nabokov, Josep Pla and Manuel Mejía Vallejo. It was a natural choice for the UNESCO's General Conference, held in Paris in 1995, to pay a world-wide tribut...

This is probably one of the most profound pieces I have read in a long time.

Getting the ego out of the way, moving towards a state of humility, answering our calling, mastering our weaknesses, honouring our commitments, and finding a love that electrifies us...these are the things that we should be working towards so that we can move closer to our higher selves.

I truly loved this!

It's hard to believe that Chapter 16 of my book Four in the Morning has just gone up. It still feels so surreal that I am writing this story.

Happy reading everyone, and PLEASE remember to vote for each chapter as this really helps the book's ranking.

"The weeks ahead became a series of secret, stolen moments for Claudia and Alex while their normal lives played out in the background. And those stolen moments were fraught with tension, the fear that they might be discovered and that the news would travel back to Gareth’s family, Alex’s wife and most importantly, Claudia’s children.

For Claudia, it was an inner battle of two beasts. One was starving and undernourished, its hackles raised in fear, the anticipation of danger lurking around every corner. The other was tame and friendly, filled with serenity and compassion, born of trust and hope. How she longed to feed the beast of serenity without the snarling, fearful beast knocking on her door..."

"There are many ways of living. Some people simply exist. They wake up every morning, slip out of bed, churn through their daily routines with very little sense of purpose, return to bed, and then repeat the whole cycle again the next day. And then one day, they slip away in the night and the world carries on without them in it and soon they are forgotten because in reality, they left very little behind to remember them by.

And then there are those that choose to live. Really live. They may have simply existed at one point in their lives, but through a series of (often mysterious, and sometimes heart breaking and tragic) circumstances, something snaps inside. A seed begins to germinate and life bursts out from inside, reaching up towards the sun, unfurling and drawing in the light, excited to make an impact on the world. That is living..."

To all my Four in the Morning book fans, I've just uploaded Chapter 15.

The book is currently at #4 on Jukepop's Top 30, so please remember to vote and comment to push the rankings up :-)

One day you might notice holes in a few of your socks, or that a blanket is wet and has a few holes in it too. Then it becomes a sweater or some other valuable item. Eventually you’ll realise that your cat is the culprit, but you have no idea why she has been doing it.Nobody knows why cats chew and eat clothing, especially wool, but there are a number of theories on the subject. One of the theories suggests that if a kitten is taken away from her ...

Making Sure that your Cat is Correctly Identified: The Basics

It is your responsibility as a pet owner to ensure that your cat has some form of identification.

To start with, put a visible identification tag on her collar and include important information such as her name, your name, your address and contact details. Many vets and pet shops supply this service at a nominal cost.

If you’ve never purchased a collar for your cat, make sure it is one with a breakaway clasp so that if your cat catches herself on something it will open easily and not choke her to death. A collar with a tag on it will save your cats life, but the problem is that if it comes off, there is no way of identifying your cat.

This leads us to the subject of microchips... Read more here http://magiccatkittyware.co.za/blog/2015/04/20/making-sure-that-your-cat-is-correctly-identified-the-basics/
