Foiled again! :-(

Unfortunately it looks like the Texas heat and humidity was too much for the Glass foil to hold up against over the weekend at the Geeks Games and Gadgets convention. Going to contact +Google Glass support and talk with one of the always helpful Glass Guides tomorrow.

Oculus Buys Hand-Sensing Technology Firm

The realm of virtual reality is getting very interesting, very quickly. Facebook made a great move buying Oculus when they did. This industry is hardly blooming and we're having innovations like this.

Google's mysterious "GG1" product submitted to FCC for approval

Maybe this is the first iteration of the consumer-facing version of Google Glass? It's pure speculation, but still fun to think about. What are your thoughts?

ICYMI: The Martian Trailer debuted!

I'm excited for this movie to make its way to theaters. The book was absolutely fantastic and the entire time I thought how it seemed like a go-to script for a movie. At first I was a little skeptical to learn Matt Damon would be Watney, but after seeing the trailer I think my doubts have been put at ease.

Take your class on a virtual field trip with Google Expeditions

So much news with the kickoff of Google I/O 2015, but the most interesting I've seen so far is with Google Expeditions. It's an initiative to help teachers take their kids on field trips using the inexpensive VR headset Cardboard that Google released at last year's I/O conference.

If Google keeps up with Expeditions, this could be huge for the education industry. Since the Cardboard headset can be made out of a few lenses, magnets and, well, cardboard, the most expensive part would be an Android device for the headset. A high-end Android smartphone isn't even needed. A fairly wide range of Android devices that can fit into Cardboard are capable of producing VR experiences.
