It's day two of our week playing host to Incomparable Things.

Today, Alex, Nick and Stefaan have been delving into the history of Philips, with a visit to the Philips Museum in the morning.
The museum visit really highlighted the fact that, 123 years ago, Philips was itself a start-up. The early days of Philips were filled with the same experimentation – and, occasionally, problems – as every new business experiences.  However, there were also many happy accidents, which in turn led to new business. This journey from start-up to major multinational company is perhaps the most inspiring thing of all to a new or young company. After that it was off to Amsterdam, where the team will be based for the rest of the week.

Have a look at our photo gallery to see how day two went at Philips HQ.

Hi +Eferson Luiz da Costa , we're planning to accomplish wonderful things of course. All kidding aside, we're excited to welcome Alex, Nick and Stefaan at our HQ. We've had few knowledge sharing sessions, and it's interesting that we're able to identify similar challenges and opportunities in each other.

The #football  tournament in Brazil is heating up. Head to Philips’ Vine account to see how we’re re-enacting some of the tournament’s memorable goals, with the help of Philips #Hue.

Uneaten food turns to waste; this could be caused by inefficient supply chain management. These entrepreneurs have created a business model that could potentially solve the problem: http://philips.to/TP4sm7

It's been another busy day for Alex, Nick and Stefaan. Today we've been exploring the potential common ground that can be shared between start-ups and big businesses.

From a Philips perspective, perhaps the most exciting thing about today was watching Incomparable Things’ Alex Howell deliver a presentation on the culture of start-ups and innovations.
Often it can be too easy to separate the culture of a company like Incomparable Things from that of one like Philips.

Alex’s presentation demonstrated that the guiding principles of innovation are the same no matter what kind of company you work within, or even if you don’t work within one at all. It was a good reminder that innovation is always possible: something we always try and achieve here at Philips.

As Alberto Prado, our Head of Digital Innovation, remarked: “I really liked the culture speech session. For the first time Philips is interacting with a start-up, and there’s a lot that big companies can learn from them. I found that it was productive and inspiring. Incomparable Things were very open about their journey. It was a very good opportunity for us to be able to understand what it takes, and try to achieve the same values within the bigger organization.”

We’ve included our gallery of the third day of Incomparable Things’ visit – take a look now.

Of course I contacted philips support and told them the life expectation of the phillips wakuplight gives the buyer the right of (partially) replacement or repair of the article.
If I buy a washing machine and is stops after one year, I also have the right of repare of replacement. One can't stay that the garantyperiod had ended! But I could get a voucher of 20% for another article of Phillips. That snot what i want. The lamp is 3 years old and has e life expectation of about 7 years. So repair of replacement is more apropriate to my opinion. Nou I am all ' in the dark' without my wakuplight and the summer is ending!

Meet Incomparable Things, the startup that won our +SXSW 2014 #DigitalInnovation Challenge.

They’ll be visiting our headquarters in the Netherlands next week. Not only we’re looking forward to hear how their project has developed so far and how Philips can contribute to their #digitalinnovation  journey; we hope to be inspired by their entrepreneurial spirit.

Watch this space as we’ll be sharing what Alex, Stefann and Nick are up to during their visit, including a Google Hangout where they’ll answer questions about taking your #startup to the next level.
In the meantime, take a look at their winning platform here: http://incomparablethings.com/

For us, #ExperienceFlows is a way to map consumers experience overtime about a certain product or service, from expectation to memory. It’s a method that keeps our people-centric innovation approach in check. Read more about it here: http://philips.to/1o2Yd7m.
